Read and research with these apps
When we say “I just want to relax with a book,” it might sound like we want to dive into a passive process of absorbing words and sentences. But in fact, reading is work. Hard work.
Mind map and link information together
Even if you’re an engaged reader, we’re sure there are types of content that are hard to process for you. Well, it’s generally easier to focus on a Stephen King’s thriller than on a 100-page scientific article. The strategy of mind mapping and interlinking the information as you read will make you an active reader, no matter what you read. Let’s see how it works.
Turn the key points into mind map nodes
MindNode lets you style your mind maps creatively, so you enjoy the process. Use this app to pack the most important insights from your reading into a digestible mind map.
Link to nodes with Hookmark
Your mind map can make a perfect summary of what you’ve read. But what if you look at it later and can no longer decipher some of the nodes and notes? This is why we recommend keeping your mind maps “linked” to relevant reading passages.
Hookmark makes linking easy:
Select a node (topic) on your mind map and click Edit > Copy as > Link
In the book or article you want to link to, find the relevant page, and hit Control + H
In Hookmark, click the hamburger icon and choose Hook to Copied Link.
Next time, when you invoke Hookmark on a linked node, you can navigate right to the related page in your book or article. And vice versa.
