Notes alternative that helps you do less typing
So many people, so many ways to use the Notes app. I don’t typically write in Notes, but I used to keep important information there, such as contact details, email templates, and other stuff I tend to retype. But that was before I discovered Rocket Typist.
Holy snippets
Save words, phrases, or text templates you don’t want to retype as snippets, and then recall them in any app by typing an abbreviation. Abbreviation? It’s a phrase that expands into your snippet. I usually user + the first few symbols of the word: “radd” for address, “rsig” for signature, etc.
And here’s how Rocket Typist can help you save time.
Say, you write lots of emails
I certainly do. We at Setapp send our subscribers an “app of the week” email every time the new app arrives. The email covers an intro, key app features, and CTAs. So same blocks. Why type it all from scratch? To save time, I just create a template for this type of email and put it into Rocket Typist. For app of the week, I use the abbreviation "rappweek". Whenever I want to paste this template into my writing app, I type rappweek and hit Space.
Or, computers always misspell your name
My name is Tetiana but the digital world wants to call me Tatiana, I guess. Otherwise, why would all apps auto-correct me? Rocket Typist gave me a wonderful solution: now I have a snippet with the right spelling of my name, which is recalled whenever the wrong spelling is typed.
Or, you’re just a human who wants to be productive
Save signatures, date templates, “Dear Sir or Madams,” most-used emojis, favorite quotes, the tagline of your product, you name it. By pasting those things instead of typing, you’ll be saving days every year. And who would say no to an extra vacation?
Hope this use case will help you solve tasks faster, and enjoy solving them too! Check out more use cases picked for you below.
