There is no option to open an existing Markdown file, which is a baffling limitation. [edit] The developer responded with the hint to just paste markdown in a new document 🤦♂️

Hi Erik, don't just paste the markdown into a new document but insert a markdown section first and then paste it into the markdown section. After that you can merge the markdown section into the document. It needs a few clicks but it works.
