There’s a significant delay in the audio

Bluetooth mics/headphones add wireless buffering, which can cause noticeable audio delay. Switching either input or output to a wired or built‑in device usually reduces this latency a lot.

Thanks for the feedback. In most “app not working” cases, the Mac has no input device (for example Mac mini/Studio without a connected mic). The new version now shows a warning in the menu when no mic is detected. Please connect a microphone, try the app again, and let me know if it still doesn’t react.

The concept behind the app is very good, but in practice, it does more harm than good. It constantly interprets the sound of the fan and air conditioning as if it were people's voices, and this constantly interrupts the sounds you are listening to on your airpods. Clearly, this app is only a sound filter, and not an algorithm that can actually understand what is noise and what is dialogue. I had to remove it from my Mac. It was distracting and taking me out of focus all the time.

I appreciate your honest review. When the app “does nothing”, it’s often because there is no microphone connected, so it can’t monitor or adjust anything (this happens a lot on Mac mini/Studio setups). The latest release now shows a menu warning when no input is available. Please plug in a mic, try the app once more, and let me know if it finally behaves as expected.

Definitely needs tweaking. Its detection of voices isn't very accurate. I guess I shouldnt' expect it to work anywhere close to AirPods Pro 2 since those things have a lot more sensors.

This is a Bluetooth bandwidth limitation — it cannot deliver high-quality audio input and output simultaneously. To fix it, open Silenz → Settings and switch the Input Device to your Mac's built-in microphone or another wired microphone.

Garbage app, there’s noticeable lag for the sound passthrough which is infuriating. Even if it’s not the app’s fault it’s still unusable

Hi, could you provide more details on what Input and Output devices are used? By any chance, any of it is a Bluetooth device?

Nothing happens after clicking "On" or "Smart", there is some short blink, but it stays on "Off".

Please check the app’s menu to see if there’s a warning about no microphone or output device being detected. If you see this message, please connect an external device and then try turning “On” or “Smart” again.

Simple and yet powerful. I use it often as my working office area is quite noisy. This app minimizes most of the noise so I can concentrate on my work.

It never does anything. never uses CPU, and doesn’t change how your headphones sound. I was going to take others words… I’ll be happy to try it out again

Thank you for your comment. When the app appears to do nothing and CPU stays at zero, it’s usually because macOS doesn’t see any microphone (common on Mac mini/Studio without an input device). The latest version now displays a warning in the menu in that situation. Please connect a mic, test it again, and feel free to share if it works better now.

I’m sorry the app seemed inactive. In many cases this happens when there is no input device available, so the app has nothing to process (for example a Mac mini/Studio without a mic). The new build shows a clear warning in the menu if no microphone is detected. Please attach a mic, give it another try, and let me know if the issue persists.
