Outdated lagecy app. There is version 2 out for month. So I don't expect any feature updates here

Really love the app but I am a bit disappointed that v2 has not been released yet on Setapp while v2.7.0 is already available. As loong as we can export/import settings including models and API keys, we are good to migrate. Looking forward to v2 but getting a bit frustrated meanwhile.

As a creative music producer and UX-writer, and not that good at technichal things, I would like to have more help with instuctions, automatic questions and better onboarding.

Best App for AI ever.

The idea is good, but it simply doesn't work well. Files added to projects are ignored in the chat and when trying to send them through the chat itself, it "breaks" and sends a blank message.

Bolt AI is most performant and elegant app for interacting with multiple AI model.

Unbelievably slow

The app was great. However, the version on Setapp is way behind the latest v1.x releases, and has yet to upgrade to the v2 releases (and it might never do so, according to the developer). I say “was great” because the current (early Oct 2025) version on Setapp is painfully buggy, and crashes regularly on macOS 26.x. It’s gone from being a joy to use to being a more of a burden. It seems the only way forward for Setapp users of BoltAI will be to ditch the Setapp version and pay for a license with the developer directly.

Amazing app for advanced AI usage. When can we expect v2 here?

I use this every day. It saves me $$. Use this instead of the WebUI of your preferred premium model.

This is by far the best AI assistant I’ve used, including paid ones outside of setapp. The assistant keyboard shortcuts are incredibly useful, and the ability to switch between different AI models is a great feature.

Constantly causing system crashes.

Shame they provide version 1.X when you have a 2.X on the Bolt.AI web site

Seems with chatgpt-5 it tries to pass temperature which is wrong and it does not work

Not a bad app actually. I'm looking for it to replace my Typing Mind lifetime version as it is so limited unless you pay $220 for extra storage per year. Bolt AI does not seem to have this limitation. It still does have a few arrows here and there, but that seems to be the same with all of these AI interfaces.

One of the bigger surprises on Setapp for me, ends up being something I use constantly, everyday and an engaged developer who keeps making it better each iteration. If you’ve got multiple LLM APi/keys and want to manage your prompts in one place this is a great tool. Also adding MCP support (I can see in beta now) will make this the central part of any multi LLM/agentic workflow.
