I was skeptical when I first saw this, but so far it has worked incredibly well for me. A MacBook Air can run on battery for a looong time in this mode (just take care if you chuck it in a backpack or similar — it can get HOT!).

Good idea, but it seems buggy, especially with external monitors. Also, a lot of design choices are hurting legibility. Needs polish.

Thanks for the feedback, and sorry these issues slipped through. The next update prevents Clamshell from arming with an external display, since macOS already handles that setup. We also improved Settings legibility and added a toggle to replace the frosted background with solid black. Hope this makes the experience better!
