Do not install. Opened windows repeatedly with shadows, had to restart my computer as soon as i could. I cannot give further description as i had to restart ASAP.

Hello Francois, thanks for reporting this and my apologies. This was due to a window-creation race that could cause multiple windows to open rapidly in some corner cases, a fix will be included in the next update.

The functionality is too limited, and the models can only be used locally, resulting in poor performance.

Hello Akring, I am sorry you didn’t have a good experience, but the whole point of this app is to run AI locally for better privacy and security.

A very impressive application. It is an ideal combination of local on-device LLM and text processing. I would appreciate the functionality to create custom prompts to apply them to selected texts in any input fields in macOS.

Thanks a lot Dima, making Manzoni's local AI text actions accessible in any macOS app is one of the next big things! Stay tuned

My 2025 Macbook (M3 Max with 16 cores [12 performance and 4 efficiency]) hates this app. I tried the Qwen 3 4B 2507 model (the smallest). The screen flickers, the windows ghost. The computer stops responding… and the LLM doesn’t come up with text for a while… Right now this is unusable for me. I look forward to trying other versions. For now I am going to uninstall it.

Hi Jacob, I am sorry you had a bad experience, thanks for reporting. This was likely caused by a documented system-wide lag on Tahoe that will be fixed in the next release. If the issue persists, I’d be happy to get on a Zoom call to personally review it, or you can email me directly at [email protected] with more details about your specific setup to further investigate.

Exectly why do I want to use this app instead of ollama? Based on what I’m seeing in this app as of Jan 8 2026, there is nothing that ollama is losing/ if not more features? Ollama is open source, free, runs locally, supports free cloud models for free accounts. But this app is just a app that runs ai models. Even useless than eney, at least that one can link to vpn and make use of setapp apps.

Ollama is a local clone of ChatGPT. This is a word processor with AI integrated into documents to specifically support writing tasks. If you don't need writing assistance, you don't need this tool. You can still use Ollama to achieve the same outcomes, just in less convenient ways (e.g. a lot of prompting and copy-paste between the chat and the document), as it wasn't primarily designed for writers' needs.

I’m giving this app a hesitant thumbs up, because I’d like to see it grow. THE GOOD NEWS: This app makes local AI-assisted writing accessible when compared to approaches involving laborous technical installations. Sometimes these even require coding knowledge. I saw one review complaining that “it can only be used locally.” My brother in christ, that’s the point. THE BAD NEWS: It's one of the clunkiest writing app I’ve come across in awhile. It’s missing intuitive keyboard shortcuts, window sizing is clunky/huge, its name isn’t memorable (so good luck finding it later), and it’s brutally non-native (doesn’t behave at all like a typical mac app). And while it does have markdown support, it doesn’t support code blocks, indentation, or Apple’s writing assistant. It also doesn’t have personalization features like other AI tools. It’s viable, but not usable. Certainly not delightful. For now, I’m sticking with Apple’s writing assistant in native apps for the majority of related tasks.

Hi Lucas, thanks for your thoughtful review, I'm working on your comments but I need some clarification on keyboard shortcuts and personalization features. Please shoot me a line at [email protected] to discuss :)
