Perfect tool when you need it.

* Text Soap - MUST HAVE! Works with so many things; soo many. (Yeah, I repeated myself) I love it that much! It’s an app you never knew you always needed! (This is much better than fussing around with 10 panels of hidden settings) Honestly, I like one stop shopping. The less I have to share/connect/service/action/ienable —the better. - TextSoap - KeyCue (Right now Gemini is advising—in bold— not to publish this AS IS, cause of reasons … (3 pages worth apparently) Grr, giving it the side eye. Second opinion from CHATGPT 5? Gatgpt 5 — Admited it was sloppy but simple, making it more authentic.… soooo, yeah, that checks—I gave it a high five and clicked SEND. Finger guns! Awesome job.

Only available in English. A hard-to-justify policy in 2025, with all the modern localization tools available to independent developers. As is often the case with Setapp, this otherwise promising software will remain reserved for English speakers.

It is an excellent tool for cleaning up formatting issues. I have been using it for years.

It converts Markdown to HTML! Hurrah!! As well as cleaning up all the niggles like double paragraph breaks (which Google docs cannot do), and straight to curly quotes all in one click. Excellent.

UPDATE: for almost 100% of the time I've had Setapp, this app has frozen immediately upon opening. I've been forced to use the trial version which (without notice!) truncates your results. THAT IS EVIL. So first there's the failure to release working software. Secondly there's the silent deletion of user data. Both are problems but silent deletion of user data is absolutely unforgiveable. --original-- This is a useful app, but requiring me to save a plain text file with the '.txt' extension is unbelievably assinine. Let me use whatever extension I want! Really a good way to ruin an otherwise good app! "You cannot save this document with extension “.md” at the end of the name. The required extension is “.txt”." 🤦🏼‍♂️ 🤦🏼‍♂️ 🤦🏼‍♂️

It’s been a part of my daily workflow every since I first tried it out.

Batch File Cleaning is useless for files with non-standard extensions. There’s even a text field where these extensions can be specified – alas, most of the files still don’t get processed because “[ unsupported filetype ]” (according to the log).

This is a good text editor. I like the option to apply various cleaning procedures on text, although I think they could approve the discoverability of different procedures.

Essential app, saves a lot of time every day fixing basic text formatting issues. And I really like that the icon has turned green! Any way to make this permanent? It always takes me a few seconds to remember that “Textsoap” is the app that looks like tomato juice.
