This is good for very rudimentary dupe management. However, it gives you almost no control over common scenarios like if the “Date Modified” timestamp of a file is different from a file that has the exact same checksum. In this regard, I suppose its better for the app to err on the side of safety, but its frustrating that theres no way to prioritize file checksums over other filesystem level metadata that doesnt actually affect the contents of the file itself. Gemini missed about 2 TB worth of exact duplicates in my archives, simply because the “Date Modified” metadata was different.

Gemini helps enormously to find duplicates in vast collections of files and determine which ones to keep and which to delete.

App is broken. Used to be great, now crashes every time I try to use it after the scan, even after uninstalling and reinstalling.

Takes forever to do the first scan. Never finished. When I click stop, the app freezes.

Only “problem” is the name. When I want to recommend it to others they think I mean Google AI Gemini. MacPaw Gemini is my go to utility when cleaning up duplicate storage on my Synology and UGREEN NAS devices.

This is great, brillant, and easier than easliy deleted.

takes too long and too onerous to sort through the dupes. Asks repeatedly about erasing duplicate and similar photos even if I check the “don’t ask again” box.

Not good - started it twice, eating up all memory, causing system crash.

I was working on a project consolidated my FLAC library from three sources into one. Needless to say, there were DUPLICATES! Gemini saved me a ton of time locating and eliminating those duplicates quickly!
