Definitely a fan of this app -- it's great at helping identify and manage my photo duplicates. The v2.10.2 update seems to have resolved the crashing issues I was experiencing. Thanks devs! There's some UX improvements that i'd love to see, tht would make this even better -- options to disable confirmation dialogs for things like 'Start over', ability to set preferences for default duplicate/similar pre-selection rules, more consistent button locations (like having Start over in the same place every time), etc. Some buttons don't seem to respond sometimes, or require multiple clicks, etc -- hopefully the devs can fix these. The image duplicate detection is pretty good. Could be a bit better at detecting mirrored images, that are otherwise identical. So as promised -- thanks to the developers patching the instability issues, I've changed my rating to a Thumbs Up. Thanks for listening, and hopefully you can look at a few of these suggested tweaks to make it even better :)

locked up machine badly

Still my to-go-app for finding duplicates and lovely animations, but i really miss a dark mode in 2026 ;-) And one detail would improve the functionality a lot: A possibility to select all similar images with the lower resolution.

Application is very good but being a low vision user the ability to set the app to work in Dark Mode would be useful as the white screen is to bright for some users with a visual impairment.

Gemini makes it much easier to review images for duplicates, which tend to accumulate over time. As an amateur photographer, I have a large library of photographs, and I saved several hundred megabytes and several hours of time using Gemini.

Love the app but it crashes all the time. on a M1 macbook and my new M4 macbook

For something as critical as this, the inteface is absolutely confusing - I ran a test and I see folders that have nothing to do with each other displayed, only one checked…absolutely unclear what will happen and what happens. To their credit, they have a “Put Back” option but I don’t feel confident with this app, they should really work on making intuititve — we are removing files after all.

App Crashes frequently on Tahoe 26.6.2 OS. Example - After 20+ Minutes of scanning, when we click on review results, it crashes. App is unstable to use it.

Crashes immediately after scanning. I cannot tell how this app works because it crashes immediately after providing results. Shame, it shows promises, but right now, it’s useless.

Can't even detect files with the same file name which is the simplist task.

So far so good, only used a couple of time so early days at the moment.

Seems to really dominate memory usage to the point that OSX pauses the app, opens a dialogue and asks me which other apps I want to force quit. After force quitting a few, Gemini just eats all available memory till I eventually had to close it. Was comparing about 30GB of files and it used 49GB of RAM. Not a very good experience so far…

After merging two music libraries, Apple Music found over 2,000 duplicates. Gemini: zero!

Unstable (crashes frequently) and overly simplistic (leaves user with virtually no control over what is compared). I have files in a folder and duplicates in a subfolder under that. When scanning the parent folder Gemini can't find the duplicates. I recommend Beyond Compare. Its vastly more capable.

The auto-select function is completely ineffective.

I know I have a ton of duplicates in my Photos app, and it is not picking them up.

It failed to find 3 duplicate files as a test that I set up. It apparently does not use a content-based file comparison and has no way to enable such a thing.
