the network inspector is promising, but manually clicking on each country to exclude it is less than ideal. And I see no way to see what has been blocked, urgo I cannot deal with it. Otherwise very impressed.

The app does not show up in the Endpoint security extensions section for an user that is not admin (macOS Tahoe 26.0.1)! Otherwise, nice job!

Looked at Moonlock when several User group members had email issues. When Moonlock VPN is ON, outgoing email may fail. Same deal with new email client setups. It all depends on how the ISP vends email services. Not a Moonlock flaw just a BE AWARE item

I didn’t see the need for it, really, but I saw it was from MacPaw (the SetApp folks themselves) and figured I’d give it a go. Things were pretty quiet for the first few weeks, but recently App Tamer’s been alerting me that Moonlock’s been pegging my CPU at 95%, which isn’t great. But what I found worse than that is that there’s NO way to disable the thing — certainly not through the GUI. I would have been happy with something in preferences to dial it down a bit, or something. So then I tried to foce-quit everything Moonlock-related via Activity Monitor, but that had no effect. The ONLY thing that let me get rid of that annoying alert was uninstalling the app altogether. TO BE CLEAR: given the nature of the software itself, I can fully appreciate that it’s not “quittable”, as well as the fact that it’s gotta be very challenging to implement such complex software. That said, I could live with all the alerts, so it’s gotta go. I may check back in in 2027… if I remember ;)

Causes too many problems on my computer to be worth it. When it asks for permissions in system preferences, it causes system preferences to freeze. Uninstalled.

For anitivirus, malware, is lightweight, has a good interface, and hits the mark. The network blocker is crazy - nobody wants to select 180 countries to block. Give me a recommendation list, or give me monitoring to inform choices, or give me a select all that I can block all with and then select permitted countries. This was obvious a quick attempt to offer a feature.
