Shortcut linking between internal texts absent, many bugs, few other customization features, as well as few types of brushes as far as I am concerned much to improve and not very User Friendly. I will probably come back to use it when it is improved but for now in 2025 it is unusable.

Thanks for trying out Muse! Feedback is the primary way that I plan and prioritize features and fixes. For any bugs you find, please email [email protected] where I can ensure they're filed in the bug tracker and scheduled to be fixed. Muse is purposefully very feature-light, we've found through our research and user feedback that too many features can counter-intuitively decrease focus while working. Muse's limited feature set is designed to keep you in the flow of your thoughts while staying out of your way. Thanks!

Has the potential to be really useful but the inability to drag or reposition text notes makes it unusable, sadly.

Hi Liam, thanks for your feedback! What you're describing certainly sounds like a bug - text blocks and notes are all draggable and can be repositioned. Please email me at [email protected], and I'll be sure to look into this and get it fixed for you. Thanks!

This is a very handy app if you’re the sort of person who likes to brainstorm with a whiteboard and sticky notes. Which I do/did! I think a lot of negative reviewers on here have completely missed the point of what this app is and what it is NOT. It’s NOT supposed to be a replacement for Freeform or mindmapping/diagram software. It’s somewhere in between where you’re throwing down ideas & moving things around, figuring things out - not for refining a polished flow chart. And for me, it fits in that gap perfectly. I can take my virtual sticky note plan from Muse and then put it into proper diagram software when I’m ready. Suggestions for Developer: Would LOVE ability to show/hide comments so they don’t take up so much space on a board

A great and clean app for infinite canvas, I use it in a similar respect to drafts (entirely text-based not infinite canvas) for the initial ideation, then move the project elsewhere. It is made for iPad, with a mac port, similar to Liquidtext, but much more minimal and simple compared to that. A little more depth with boards (like internal folders) compared to freeform by apple. It is an infintite canvas-style app that at best comparison, is like a slightly more evolved and designed for iPad version of Scapple, an early iteration of the infinite canvas softwares.

Despite this app being out for years it still lacks on what I feel is basic functionality: you can only access the top item of your inbox, regardless of how many items it has, and navigating through content is often difficult as there’s no place to see all the boards at once. While I’m sure the app still benefits people in its current state, it can also become tedious and confusing too often, hence why I can’t recommend it to others.

Thanks for trying out Muse! Feedback like yours is an important way for me to prioritize new features. Very soon, a frequently requested feature - dark mode - will be released! After that, I'll be working towards local-p2p sync as well as inbox improvements. Thanks for your feedback and for using Muse!

It’s ok. For what I would use it for, it is not very useful. Requires multiple steps to do even basic things. It’s hard to use. For instance, to add one space to another, you have to move it to the inbox, then open another space, and then from the inbox. You. can not drag and drop, which is such a basic movement. There are other things that do not work as they should and require multiple steps.

This is one-of-a-kind software. Absolute gold. It's an infinite virtual desk that helps you visually lay things out similar to how one would lay out things on a physical desk. In a physical world we don't filename books, photos or notes, we just have them sitting there and with a glimpse of an eye we immediately recognize what is what. This is what Muse does. Truly exceptional approach and I only hope it'll keep evolving.

Installing this app modified the icons of all aliases (finder file / folder shortcuts) on my Mac. This is improper adjustment to defaults, filetype and filesystem extention registration. Avoid this app.

Thanks for letting me know about this issue with the file icons - I'm not sure why Muse would affect these icons. While Muse does support importing any file type, the icons themselves are controlled by Finder. It does not change any system settings for any file types.

As a iPad/Mac app this is really nice and the nested board structure and linking are very good, but the iPhone app is completely useless. It can only be used as quick capture, and cannot view anything, this makes it impossible to quickly reference anything when you’re out and about, trying to show or bounce ideas with others or show snippets and ideas to clients or friends unless you have an iPad or Mac open.
