it won't open

Used to be fantastic, recently been having issues though with it getting stuck on refreshing indexed files. EDIT: This seems to have fixed itself?

I like PDF Search for its speed and indexing, but it struggles with real-world cases where names have many spelling variants (e.g., Abdulmohsen, Abdullmohsen, Abdalmohsin). In large collections like hospital directories, this makes searching inefficient, since I have to guess spellings or run multiple queries. The app advertises AI-powered search, but it would be far more useful if there were an option for fuzzy/approximate matching and better handling of similar names/typos. Even a simple toggle to enable “AI fuzzy search” would help users control accuracy vs. flexibility. Adding this feature would turn PDF Search into a much stronger professional tool for people working with big archives of scanned or OCRed documents, where spelling differences are unavoidable.

It is an excellent search utility that is superior to Spotlight, although limited to PDFs. The search results are a graphical interface that shows the matching PDFs; very quick & easy to find what you’re looking for.

You must install something you dont use. THis is a bad solution for something straight forward soluiton.

Same issue after upgrading to Sequoia. Can not add files. It can not view any files.

Awesome app! Was able to index my 1500+ scanned PDF files without a hitch, search was lightling fast. Please keep up the amazing work!!!! It has become such a critical part of my workflow that I can’t imagine working without it now—it’s truly a game-changer for me

This app is only appropriate for small collections of PDF files. If you have thousands of PDF files, then you will not be able to find relevant search results and scroll through them quickly. DEVONthink works better.

carino, ben fatto, ma la funzione d ricerca è già presente in molti reader .pdf, non ho trovato maggiore efficenza, solo migliore usabilità

An absolute lifesaver. Does exactly what I expect. MUCH more reliable than using Spotlight!

great app if it works, ipad version is very buggy often crashes when indexing
