Versão do app: 2.3.3

Yet another screen grabber, but this one is one of the nicer ones.

I agree with other users. I do not take advantage of the possibilities of this application to the highest point because its use seems complicated.

I’ve used Screenfloat daily for over ten years — it’s always one of the first apps I install on a new machine. The addition of annotations and OCR takes it to the next level. It’s the icing on an already excellent cake.

May I ask what exactly didn't work for you - did the app not launch correctly, or were you having trouble taking a screenshot? Please mail me at [email protected] - I'd love to hear your feedback! so far so good. I like that it can screen record and export your screen record as a .MOV automatically. It is easier for me to use with Premiere Pro for content.

Tried it for a while and it just doesn't work as well as another SetApp favorite, Cleanshot X. Just not as polished or as easy to use. I don't love the binary thumbs up/thumbs down rating system here on Setapp, I'd probably give it a 3 or 4 star rating because it does work. But I suppose when they're both available on Setapp it is a fact that this one is getting uninstalled while Cleanshot X is one of the apps that keeps me paying Setapp year after year.

Versão do app: 2.2.8

I want to add to my first review to say that this app has become an app that I honestly don’t know how I lived without it. So clever and sophisticated in its design, yet so effortless in how it makes my thinking flow more easily. BEAUTIFUL! MAGICAL! AMAZING! Truly a writer’s dream!

The way the screenshot floats on the screen by default is very useful. The UI is more Mac-like and less obscure than CleanShot.

Versão do app: 2.2.8

I love the screen float functionality, but other features seem disconnected, and workflow is unnecessarily difficult compared to other apps. Take annotations as an example. Adding an arrow is way more difficult than in other apps. To add an arrow, you have to select the options, double-click on canvas, and then right-click to rotate. Moving, resizing, and pointing the arrows should be straightforward. The best way to see what I mean is to install Cleanshot and compare the workflow. Night and day.

Hi Gustavo, thank you for your review of ScreenFloat. I'm sorry my app is giving you trouble. Please mail me at [email protected] , I'd love to hear more about your issues adding an arrow annotation to a screenshot, because it should be as simple as selecting the arrow tool, dragging it to where you want it to be, and done. I'm looking forward to hear from you! Cheers, – Matthias

I just downloaded it yesterday and didn’t learn much about it, but from what I’ve seen so far, it seems like a really useful application.

Versão do app: 2.3.3

I like the app but feels cumbersome. Cleashot is much more straightforward for screenshots and TextSniper is great at capturing QR Codes. That pretty much covers the functionality I was looking to repace with ScreenFloat. Maybe I’m just set in my ways.

As for capturing QR codes in ScreenFloat, you just capture a QR code and it'll give you all the necessary options right away; you can see this in action here: https://blog.eternalstorms.at/2024/01/17/get-to-know-screenfloat-2-part-i-an-overview/#edit All the best, – Matthias

It can take its own screenshots or edit existing images. It detects all text and allows you to either Copy or Redact individual bits of text or all text at once in a single click. I wish it had Blur, not just a black redact. I also wish it would allow me to redact/blur partial text—like choosing the detected text and make it editable to then send to redact/blur. For example, I want to blur “example” from the detected “www.example.com” I also want to be able to just edit an existing image, keeping the same file name and file location. For now, I’m sticking with Zight, but I’ll use ScreenFloat once it gets blur and can just edit an existing image in its place.

The Editor needs to have a lot more options or at least some better UI. Else its really good already :D
