It overall is a nice app. Unfortunately it does not work for me, since I could not getting it to work with Outlook for Mac. Whenever I used it in Outlook replacing text removed the focus from the Outlook App and text replacement did not worl.

Having no import option makes it very impractical to migrate from the tool I’m already using. A huge missed opportunity!

This looked so promising, but "Enter your email so we can create your first shortcut and show how Typedesk works" is a non-starter. YOU CAN SHOW ME THAT WITHOUT DEMANDING MY E-MAIL ADDRESS!

Been using it for over a week, and I see a lot of potential to replace my current favorite PhraseExpress. Areas that need improvement. 1) Ability to clone a Variable so it can be reused within the template. Use Case Example: One template has to type the settings for four different areas. The variable options for each area are the same. Now I have to manually duplicate each variable for each area. It would save time and frustration to be able to simply close a variable and rename it. 2) Global Variables. Some variables are the same across templates. It would save time and frustration, plus ensure consistency across all templates, if one could create a global variable. That way, when updates are needed, a single change updates all templates. 3) Fix the inability to apply logic to a bulleted entry. 4) Feature parity between the SetApp version and the retail version.

If you’ve never used a type filling tool with variables, you owe it to yourself to try it. Once you force yourself to use it a few times so you learn the actions, you won’t want to be without it.This app feels very Mac-like and works smoothly.

Helps me save a lot of time!

Just set it up - it is a wonderful tool. I am a professional consultant and also mentor at a university program. I constantly give feedback. I configured multiple vesions of a response in Typedesk and quickly retrieve it using just a simple shortcut. I used to do it by simply using copy-paste, but each of the copy-paste takes a couple of minutes with adjustments. Multiply this by 20-100 times - and time starts to add up quickly. I am now going to extend its use to include proposals and other items and correspondence where I can use varialbes and versions as well. I highly recomend it.

Had some issue but they we’re solved in latest update so development is active. What would be nice if there is an option to open your favourite LLM. Example: enter shortcut, fill in details and on enter open Ai tooll to paste the prompt.

I tried a couple of other tools that had some similar functions to Typedesk, but once I started learning the extra capabilities I dropped the others and settled on Typedesk. I’m still far from mastering everything it can do, mostly just because of time, but I use it daily. I did have a small issue with the Mac version right after install, but support were responsive, helpful and resolved it quickly. Bugs happen, but if support is there it makes a big difference, so that was actually a positive experience. Overall I’m very happy with Typedesk and look forward to expanding how I use it, and continuing to share it with friends and colleagues so they can benefit too.
