Even though I personally don’y have a lot of use for Boom, simply because I don’t create a lot of videos, I found it to work really well despite lacking advanced post-editing features. Really easy to use, and makes videos look great. When I have a need for screen recording that doesn’t require much editing in post, I will definitely be using it.

Unfortunatley can’t log in stuck in a loop that keeps me signing into my google accoutn . Bummer

Boom has completely changed the way I present online. Instead of boring screen shares, everything now flows through a clean, polished virtual camera that makes my demos look professional. The cinematic zoom, smooth layouts, and presenter overlays make a huge difference especially when showing software demos. It’s simple to use, works flawlessly with Zoom and Google Meet, and instantly levels up the quality of any presentation. Highly recommend it for anyone who wants their content to stand out.

Great app, constantly evolving making it every day better

I use this for most online meetings and have not had any issues. It is great to be able to have my company logo and contact details on my screen during calls and I really like the onscreen timer too.

TL;DR: Worth a try but it’s a beta. Setapp, Please add more finished products. IMO, Boom should still be in beta. First version was okay, but after the last update it has become more buggy. There are MANY basic functions missing or frustrating to use. Would love if they tried to perfect something before adding new features. Of the MANY issues I have with it, one VERY basic annoyance is that there is no preference (settings) pane. I don’t need it to launch on startup but you can’t change that. HUGE disappointment but HUGE potential.

Some similar apps I’ve tried tend to take over the microphone, which I really don’t like. Boom stays focused, my video and microphone work normally without any complicated setup. I love the iPad/iPhone overlay idea, it looks very professional when I’m presenting my designs. Really love it! Wish I had known about this earlier.

Lots of great tools that make meetings more fun, but also allow me to signpost my roles as I join different meetings in differneet guises. Well worth using this for all its great features.

I love the idea. After some weeks of crashes and bugs, now it actually works really smooth. Recommend!

This has been a useful (if somewhat confusing) app for some time. With the last release it has started to take 50% of my CPU which makes it unusable as the framerate drops and the responsiveness of my Macbook Air M3 is badly affected.

Great, but I was unable to uninstall it - the camera extension stays. I had to manually uninstall it.

Do I love this app? Absolutely. Do I often get compliments on how cool I look in virtual meetings? Yes. Have I run into issues only to have the support team work with me in resolving the issues so I can continue looking cool in virtual meetings? Also yes. So it begs the question, why aren’t you using Boom to elevate your virtual meeting experience so that you too can be cool in your virtual meetings?

Having trouble running on new macOS.

Does some cool things, but also has some issues. I would like an option to permanently hide the remote box. It pops up every time and it is very annoying to have to hide it ... but at least I can hide it now.

Sign in with Setapp isn’t working. Can’t even test the app.
