MacStudio M1 Ultra 128GB Ram OS 15.7.8 with two 32” monitors unfortunately App is usless because as soon as I start it my mouse become uncontrollable and moves quite unpredictably. In comparisson if I use QT screen recording or an app like ScreenFlow I dont have such issues.

Almost great, but with one glaring issue - the confusion between “canvas size” and “selected area”. As you’d expect, you can select an area on the screen to record. However, unintuitively, the resulting video will be the “canvas size”, which is a completely different dimension that is seemingly unrelated to the selected size. Regardless of the area you intend to record (screen, application, specific area) the output will be the “canvas size” dimension, and it’s totally unclear how to actually set that dimension. It’s been very sporadic for me - sometimes it feels like it’s synced to the selected area, sometimes it is way off. More often than not, it doesn’t even have the same aspect ratio, resulting in stretched videos. If this app can solve that major issue, it’ll become a serious competitor with Screenflow, thanks to its ability to record system sound.

When it works, it's fine decent but I spend as much time fighting against it as I do using it. 1. constantly has the camera light on despite not recording 2. sometimes just records a blank screen or nothing at all. sometimes restarting fixes it. No way to know if it'll work until you've finished your 5min video 3. crashes on load if you have setapp background apps disabled

Although features are excellent, but did not record full screen for my Mac. For some reason, it crops the edge and record only some center area of the screen only

Great App

Would be nice to keep the Preview window open when recording, so one can quickly change the camera feed from full page to a small image in a corner and be able to move it on the fly.

No real way to capture iPhone screen, or no indication nor article on how to do it.

my mac tells me the app is accessing my screen share even when I have not asked it to record. Uninstalled immediatly.

Doesn’t work for me. It always says “Starting”.

does the job …cleverly designed for a tricky task … it needs a small (minutes not hours) learning effort (a fraction of what’s demanded by its competitors) … I am also impressed by patience and responsiveness of developer

I have used iShowU about 10 years ago, at which time it worked like a charm. Now i turned to it again because I needed to record some screen interaction in a browser window for a client of mine. First, I chose to record an application. I selected Chrome. I could see that it recorded all Chrome windows. So I closed everything, except the one small window. Sadly, iShowU recorded my entire screen, which is large, with one small window in it and shrunk everything down to me preselected size of 1024x768px. Ok, I got it, wrong approach. Since I could not figure out how to record only the space occupied by this one window, I search for a while and found that I can just define a certain area of the screen to be recorded. Perfect - that had been how I did it 10 years ago. I started recording. The app crashed about the same second where it started recording. I opened it again and tried again. It crashed again. I believe this will be fixed by iShowU. I am on MacBook Pro, M4 Max, Sequoia 15.3

Been closing constantly. It worked fine for the first few days but facing a lot of trouble now.

I hope the developer fixes external monitor change issues. (when I set the target screen as the external monitor and disconnect the screen, the app is not working properly)

Bogs down the top-end M3Max Macbook Pro with 128gb ram to the point of unusability just when changing settings! Incredibly unstable. Often won’t record screen at all. Sometimes works fine, but still nearly impossible to change settings.

DOWNGRADING TO THUMBSDOWN BECAUSE NO MATTER WHAT, IT ONLY RECORDS A SMALL PART OF THE SCREEN. Setting to full screen does nothing. Selecting the entire screen does nothing. THIS IS A MASSIVE BUG THAT RENDERS THE APP USELESS.

Nice and usefull. Thank you. It lacks the feature of adding background to Canvas when capturing a window. But I solved this problem by overlaying two applications.
