Not a great solution for markdown files that contain code, it often messes up the formating of code blocks and extends them past where they end. Also, the export as PDF functionality just results in a blank PDF.

Works great for what it is - a read only app. Can’t edit md files though.

If you use markdown, then it’s an excellent app, even more so with what is planned for versoin 3

Nice and intuitive

I noticed an issue when exporting as a single-page PDF: the right margin seems to be cut off and extra space appears on the left side, which affects the final layout. It would be great if this could be adjusted.

Excellent markdown preview. Editting the CSS can result in high quality and great looking pdfs that are even suitable for publication, without the need for latex (especially small abstracts)!

A really great app for anyone managing content in Markdown. It has some limitations for example with paginated printing. But the developer is very responsive and working on improving it.

Overall good job, printed paginated PDF's is broken - the content is shifted to the left by 1/3rd to 1/2 of page width. But continuous PDF looks fine.

Update: NEWEST VERSION HUNG MY MACHINE AND BROKE PRINTING. Completely messed up the print formatting, and printing is the only reason I use Marked. It cut off the left hand side of the document, about the first 2 letters in a large font, so probably something like 64 points. Ridiculous!! Old: Pretty good but more issues than a tool like this should have. The biggest is that when launched from another app (Drafts for me), Marked will often hide the Print Window behind the preview. This can result in hanging the app or in extreme circumstances hanging the machine. This is not acceptable in an app whose primary function for me, and doubtless others, is this workflow. Dec 2024 it hung each time I tried to open. Reinstalled. Restarted SetApp. Had to RESTART the machine. Not ideal. Also configuration process for styles and other non-trivial changes is too complex. I know it's powerful, but it must be simpler for new users. Some things took a LOT of work and investigation.

I guess this is advertised as preview only and works as such, but it makes no sense to limit this to preview only. It does have a source display, all is needed to enable editing of the source code (which is simple text) and it is full editor. I would like to fix typos and remove blocks I do not need and have to open yet another application to do so. Weird choice, because it looks like a good app. I’ll keep looking for editor with Markdown support, then dump this as extra tool.
