This is SO broken it’s ridiculous! Click to open toggles marks “all as done”. I just clicked a toggle so idk what it think it’s marking done. When I try to move mail to trash or mark it done, it loads for like 30-45 seconds and says it was done but it doesn’t disappear. I’m thinking it might be deleing the wrong mail. This app is so dangerous and so unproductive UPDATE over a year later. I am trying again with this app and it’s still riddled with bugs! Grouping works, but after you do so you wont be able to do anything with the mail. Clicking a group just says it’s empty and has a button to go back to inbox, and clicking the trash icon on the group row says ‘an error occured’. I can find the mail in gmail or apple mail so it’s definitely there. This happens to about 40-50% of ALL groups! I’ve tried closing and reopening with no fix. PLEASE READ YOUR REVIEWS AND FIX THE BUGS!

The SetApp version has this quirck that it locks up when the last email is deleted within either the Notifications or Newsletters list of Focused-List mode. Have to quit and restart app. I didn't have this problem when using the paid sub desktop version. Does not lock up on mobile. So I have to make sure to always leave a single email in those lists and delete from mobile to get to inbox zero.

It’s a nice enough email app and useful to separate work and personal with, but I miss when it was not Electron based and faster. Rendering was faster on the 2x version, it used less memory, and things like the close buttons would not be off on older versions of macOS. I don’t really use any of the advanced features.

Like virtually all Readdle apps - this is really just a half baked app that continually goes for a money grab. Make no mistake about it - Setapp membership only unlocks core functionality. Many of the “premium features” have been removed and placed into much higher and absurdly expensive pricing tiers. Don’t even bother with their customer support unless you want to go back and forth with their people who will gaslight you, ignore your issues, and do their best to sell you their overpriced subscriptions. Spark is a mess of an app built on Electron - so it’s an overpriced web app - that connects YOUR email to THEIR servers. Privacy and compliance are NOT in Spark at all.

I generally like the app. what I’d like to see improved though is 1- being able to use swipes on a touchpad to go back to an inbox from an email (just like how I do things in a browser which is very intuitive) 2- bolder color highlighting for the different accounts which right now it’s a tiny ring around the profiles which is not very evident at first sight 3- a warning/prompt option in my face (which can be turnned on or off) telling me I’m sending from which email so I won’t mess up and send an email from the wrong email account which is very sensitive with regard to clients/business partners 4- an option to change the logo since your logo is very similar to the telegram app which makes me click on either one by mistake 5- a sync shortcut for calendar which I can click to make it sync since it seems that it’s not the quickes to sync with changes/invites/accepting invites or deleting stuff. Thanks.

This is a massive upgrade from Apple Mail. It makes email fun again.

Finally, Spark 3 brings everything you want. I’ve tried countless email apps over the years: Canary, Edison, Airmail, Superhuman, Outlook, Apple Mail, Gmail. In 2025, Spark is by far the best. Simple, helpful, plenty of keyboard shortcuts. It helps me stay on top of email, without feeling overwhelmed. It’s well worth it. Particularly useful for those who like to work to Inbox Zero. Spark also has a similar command centre feature to Superhuman, which is a superpower. Do everything, fast. The best bit is you’re in total control over the features. No need to use AI if you don’t want to. It’s just fantastic.

Completely useless app, it can’t even add my imap accounts which is the whole point of a mail app.

The app was working great and I loved it, but with all these AI changes it’s losing it’s charm. This new update (3.27.4 (3.27.4.124850)) just keeps crashing randomly. Please keep emails simple and fix these issues.

Keeps crashing on Macbook Pro M4 Pro 24GB RAM and 1TB SSD. Had to restart computer and reinstall.

I’ve returned back to version 2. I am still a huge fan of version #2. I am happy to "own" it. This version #3 I used via SetApp and it is a total disimprovement. I am sure most of the Readdle-employees do not use version #3 … this is just a product. More glitter, more pseudo-AI, more useless glammer.. just to sell … not to use. just one point of many: compare search-function between version #3 and version #2 and you will delete version #3 immediately. So I did, because no power or business use possible. very sad. PS: At that moment an AI or algorythm decides which email is important for me or not, at that moment I’ve lost control about my life. I would much prefer greater user-friendliness through fewer clicks, intuitive work sequences and intelligent button placement.

Fantastic Mail app, never been so organised in such a seamless and fluid way, 10/10 would recommend.

Way too many bugs (specially on iOS) that developers won’t fix despite reporting them for years!

Been using for a few days and so far so good. Adding my 4 email accounts was easy, apple reminders easily integrated, work flow is smooth, the learning curve short. Makes email management simple.

Was forced to upgrade to the new inbox, keeps pushing AI features I don’t want and then pops up error messages saying setapp subscription failed. Email is a tool, I don’t want to fight with my email app each time I need to send an email.

Frustrating to group emails together - then when you click on a new email, it consistently tells you that you did a “great job” and I’ve “done everything here” when I have new emails I need to read! Going to find another email client - it’s sad because I really liked Spark!
