Limited customization, limited versatility, fits a very specific use case. Can’t drag-drop bullets, keyboard shortcuts are unintuitive (can be edited), stuck with default font and color styles, which are not great.

Simple, intuitive, perfect for outlining my thoughts.

Everything is a task? How about just regular bullets? Files? Images? Links? This has a very limited use case: someone who needs nested lists of tasks, but doesn’t want a project managment software.

Cannot find where the documents are stored. Vendors website is neither helpful.

Reminds me of Unix: do one small job nd do it well. Excellent for its purpose: creating binary tree taxonomies.

easy to use, functional outliner app with good export options • it’s one of the best out there

I use it for years and I’m very happy with this app. Was onced bugged with an update - only the top rows could be edited and only the top lists could be used. However, a complete uninstallation and reinstallation solved the problem.

Pretty underwhelming. Would be better if the outlines could be exported directly to MS Office programmes

Horribly annoying app. There seems to be a lag between clicking on folders. When I click on another folder cateogry, it retains the page of the previous one unless you open a new document which is confusing. And somehow, it accidentally deleted an entire folder I spent 20 minutes building. Really annoying app.

This has helped me clarify my thinking and improve my writing. The abiltiy to easily move things around makes creating an outline so much easier than it would be in a word processor. Well done!

My single favourite Setapp app. All outliners have their strengths and limitations, and this one has a fairly no-frills feature set but absolutely brilliant auto-syncing across devices - which is per-item rather than at document level, so even offline changes to the same outline on different devices will sync up correctly. The main niggle is that (presumably for technical reasons) it uses the same text colours for both light and dark modes, so that you can work with grey or coloured text but not black or white. This takes some getting used to, and some may find it too hard on the eyes and uncomfortable to work in to serve as a primary outliner. Even so, the sync feature is so good that it’s quietly become my everywhere thinking-bucket app for notes, outlines, and idea capture on whatever device is nearest.

Great that you can turn checkboxes on and off easily. Wonderful that it does not work directly with MS Office crap. Easy to use, quick, simple. All you need in an outliner.
