Great search tool. I like that it uses the spotlight database and it provides an easy interface for complex searches.

Couldn’t find anything without this tool. It is ESSENTIAL to my sanity!!! LOVE IT!

What a wonderful time saver! Almost too good to be true. Find’s files immediately. One of the hardest parts of daily work is finding where you put things. HoudahSpot saves so much time and just works!

I’m getting used to HoudahSpot. It seems better than spotlight in a few ways: construct and save detailed custom searches, results can include file meta, easy to pull up files and go to files in finder. One glitch, it seems, is if I do a custom search and then start another similar search by changing the word(s) in the tags or name box, HoudahSpot starts searching one letter by letter. This freezes the program and finder. The memory usage goes up to 250 GB (lots of files). One needs to call up a new custom search each time, it seems. Maybe user error, but I can’t solve this issue.

Fantastic app. The search function is far more cusotmizeable that Spotlight searches leading to faster searches

great software, I was looking for an alternative to void tools everything. I want to have admin search mode to find all files.

I really appreciate that I can set directories to ignore in the search with this app. It also is far better at finding things than the default search. I’m glad to finally have a functional search that lets me find what I’m looking for with whatever keywords pop into my mind!

So far, a great addition. I could do most of this in Finder, but the interface is much friendlier.

Pretty helpful — can find some files faster and with much more precision than the default spotlight search. The app could do with a bit of an onboarding process for a smoother UX though.

Used it yesterday for the first time. I often have to go looking for images on our company Onedrive and spend ages tracking down an image. Houdahspot allowed me to find it right away with the right filter – what a time saver! This will be an extremely useful tool that I use in conjunction with Forklift, which I also like a lot. Thanks to the team.

Not easy to specify icloud drive. Can’t easily use templates.

This should be on every Mac.

Great app

Good at what it does. A bit too complicated for my daily use, though. Solid app, just not sure if I need its complexity. A lighter version would be fantastic, though
