Hey! Your issue has been fixed in the latest version. Could you please update to the latest version and give it another try? Also, if possible, we’d really appreciate it if you could update your review to reflect that the issue has been resolved. Negative reviews mentioning an issue that’s already been fixed can unfortunately impact our visibility on Setapp and make it harder for new users to find us. Thanks so much for your understanding and support! 🙏 And in the future, if you run into any specific issues, please feel free to reach out to our dedicated support team within Ortix. We’ll be happy to help!

It's crashed 5 times. I haven't made it past the fancy video yet. Doesn't seem to import from chrome. Added it to full disk access, didn't change anything. Then once I got in without importing, it was nope straight away. It's ambitious but still rough. I'll revisit it in the future, but it's a hard sale with so many other options out there. You have two Helps in the menu bar, your UX is out of alignment, small, hard to read in places, address bar falls out of sync. The animation on the URL click is a bit much, it looks weird on some backgrounds... can't tell if it's expanding or broken. I can go on and on... I love the local AI idea but it's failed to install 3 times. It's not properly registering. Also, "private by design" + "full disk access" is an ironic coupling at best. That's a lot of privacy sacrificed for an import isn't it? I look forward to revisiting this in the future. Cheers!

“setapp ai error something went wrong” and “generation failed something went wrong” taking a guess here but it seems something went wrong only happens when you enable “control” which I’m guesing is the thing that lets the ai control the browser… got me down from 300 to 237 setapp credits and still hasn’t actually done anything :D

Hi there, Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. AI agents work by making live tool-calling requests, which are computationally intensive. Each attempt to complete a complex task consumes AI credits, regardless of whether the task ultimately succeeds. The **Control** feature is currently labeled as **Beta** because it's an experimental capability that dynamically interacts with live websites and applications. While we're continuously improving it, occasional failures are expected as we refine the experience. We've recently released a major update that significantly improves AI stability, optimizes these workflows, and enhances the browser's overall performance. We'd encourage you to update to the latest version and give it another try. If the issues you experienced have been resolved, we'd greatly appreciate it if you could consider updating your review. There are a few missing keyboard shortcuts. For example, I want to hide the left sidebar, but I can’t find the corresponding shortcut, and there aren’t any hints on how to use shortcuts. This somewhat affects my experience. If there are corresponding shortcuts, I would be very willing to try them.

Antwort vom Entwickler

25. Aug. 2026

Hi there, The shortcut you were looking for is now available in the latest version of Ortix. You can now instantly hide or reveal the sidebar using: •Option + Command + S We've also added: •Command + L to instantly focus the address bar. In addition, we've expanded our built-in documentation. You can find our updated shortcut guide by going to **Help → Ortix Browser Help**, where you'll find all available keyboard shortcuts and productivity tips. If you find that things have improved, we’d really appreciate it if you could update your review to reflect the latest version. It makes a big difference to our visibility on Setapp. 🙏 Thanks for supporting Ortix!

2nd edit after answer of the devs: Ortix confirms importing spaces and bookmarks from Arc but still does not list them in Ortix.

Antwort vom Entwickler

25. Aug. 2026

Hi Martin! Thanks for the follow-up. Importing spaces/bookmarks isn’t a standard browser feature, and we don’t have full control over the process since it depends on Arc’s data. For some logged-in Arc users, certain data or changes aren’t exposed for third-party apps to import. We’ve improved import stability significantly, and a **massive update has just landed**. Please update to the latest version and give it another try. If the issue is improved or resolved, we’d really appreciate you updating your review to reflect the current version. This helps our visibility on Setapp and allows new users to see the latest experience. Thanks for helping us improve Ortix! 🙏

Love the browser so far. Runs great on my M4 Max.. My only wish is to have the ability for 1. Add my own open ai compatible end point. 2. Set the behavior/soul of the chat agent. Right now it’s 100% a “helpful assistant” which is murderous for my ADHD… Every time say say anything it immediately gives me options that will send me down rabbit holes for sure. Other than that this is an amazing browser so far! Keep up the great work.

At present, it appears incapable of working seamlessly with or substituting other AI Browsers I utilize. The bug prevents profile changes and causes crashes when importing from another browser (note that only Chrome and Safari are visible on the import page). Additionally, profile names and photos are not preserved after exiting the application. The keyboard shortcut functionality remains unclear, which is problematic as I rely heavily on it to enhance productivity with BetterTouchTool. While the concept is promising, and the application exhibits an attractive and responsive interface, I am still awaiting a significantly improved version that would allow it to serve as my primary browser, replacing Dia Browser.

22. Juni 2026

Thank you for the thumbs up and the detailed feedback! We truly appreciate you highlighting our responsive interface. We have great news: we just released a highly polished, major update that directly resolves your exact pain points and is ready to replace Dia Browser as your daily driver: • Importing & Crashes: Fully fixed. The data import tool is now completely stable. • Profile & Photo Persistence: Repaired. Your profile name, avatar, and themes will now properly stick across app restarts. • Keyboard Shortcuts: We cleaned up the Help menu to clearly lay out all keyboard shortcuts, making it easy to map them seamlessly into your BetterTouchTool workflow. The new version is live now, please give it a spin and let us know what you think! Best regards, SystemBionic Team!

Giving it a thumbs-up for now. I like the direction and the ideas behind the browser and I’m willing to put some time into becoming familiar with it to see if it can be a daily browser for me. The only deal breaker so far is that I cannot seem to get extensions working and I need my password manager at the very least.

Hi there, Thank you so much for the thumbs-up and for giving us a shot as your daily browser! It means a lot to hear that you like our direction and the ideas behind the app. We completely understand where you're coming from, a password manager is an absolute necessity for a daily driver. Because our browser engine is built from the ground up for macOS to focus on deep system integration and performance, standard browser extensions aren't fully supported just yet since MacOS have some limitations for native WebKit. Also you can use built in password manager for now untill be manage to implement full extensions support. We appreciate you putting the time into exploring the browser, and we're working hard to make sure those deal-breakers get crossed off the list soon. Stay tuned for our upcoming updates!

TL;DR: Get it—it’s awesome. If you have Setapp, you already like cool, shiny things made by developers who think outside the box. Ortix is definitely that. Ortix is where form meets function head-on. In a word: beautiful—the first box checked on this blind date. A friend told me to take her for a spin, and I’m happy to report she’s fast and strangely intuitive… almost like a developer camped over my shoulder while I stalked secondhand sales ads for silver bits and bobs to flip and prepped my library for a Jump-Up DnB session. If you know, you know 🤘🏼 I took my time with setup, and she hasn’t disappointed. Like my last blind date, she feels smarter than me—which I like. Let go of the ego, guys. Could Ortix be my forever browser? Maybe. I married that last blind date, and seven years later it 🧨imploded🧨. It’s all good; I upgraded. Still, I have high hopes.

Boy thiss product is veryt impressive. I am astounded by the unfavorable reviews (many of the complaints appear to have already been patched fyi) - It is clear that Ortix is not aiming for mediocrity and with that there will be some hiccups but with the right support I would be ecstatic to see a browser delivers this experience and sticks to its promise. Ortix seems to me, to be for people who want their browser to continue to be their digital homebase while things grow ever more decentralized it is only a matter of time before we can’t stand the massive digital suburbia we are creating and people will need a browser that has the features and the interface to reintegrate all these microservices gracefully. I will be along for the ride. **Just please don’t abandon the early adopters to bujild a knockoff browser stripped of all innovation just because the investor with the deepest pockets says to - thet ARC is all too familiar.**

Not usable. I dont know why developers think it is a good idea to make everything different. Where is the URL bar? After I hid/closed the vertical tab bar, I couldn't find it again. There is nothing in the View menu. Such terrible usability. Sorry, dude, but this is the wrong path.

Antwort vom Entwickler

22. Juni 2026

Hi there, We’re going to be direct here: Ortix isn't "unusable," it just requires a basic familiarity with modern macOS design principles. To answer your questions: • Where is the URL bar? It is located right at the top of the sidebar. It is genuinely impossible to miss when the browser is open. • How do you bring the sidebar back? You simply hover your cursor over the left edge of the screen. This is a native macOS gesture used by countless applications to reveal hidden panels. • Why is there nothing in the View menu? Because we purposely eliminated legacy menu clutter. Everything you need is unified right inside the sidebar for a cleaner, faster workflow. You mentioned this is the "wrong path," but the market completely disagrees with you. One of the most popular and highly praised browsers released in recent years is Arc, which uses a very similar vertical sidebar layout. Thousands of our own users, and millions of Arc.

I think it has potential. I like the interface and it has interesting features. I'd like to have the option to use other AI providers via API. There is one annoying thing happening right now: every time I close the app, my profile configuration resets. It changes the wallpaper, my name disappears, and I can't upload a profile picture.

12. Juni 2026

Hi there, Thank you so much for the positive feedback! We're thrilled to hear that you like the interface and find the features interesting. Regarding your feedback on AI providers, you'll be happy to know that expanding our capabilities to allow users to connect other major AI models via API is definitely on our roadmap. As for the profile configuration resetting and the issues with the wallpaper, name, and profile picture, we sincerely apologize for that annoyance. We have been incredibly busy working on performance optimizations and squashing these exact types of persistence bugs. You can expect a much more stable release that addresses these issues in just a few days! Thank you for your patience as we polish these details, and thanks again for helping us make the app better.
