The only problem is it crashes alot

I used to love Pathfinder but since a couple of days now it does not show changes in a folder. I’ve to close that tab and reopen it to see a new file!

I’ve used Path Finder for many years (well before it was on Set App) and overall love it. However, I’m having nothing but trouble with it since updating to Tahoe, so I’m going to have to uninstall for now. An app that’s so core to daily usage really should be ready to go on public release day one of a new macOS.

Pathfinder is the best. Pretty much mandatory for every Mac user so far as I’m concerned.

The app is often unresponsive and needs to be force quit.

UI / UX is so good, and Queued file trans is usefeull. But it eats too many memory…

It crashes all the time

This app is great! However, it has issues understanding how Dropbox for Business works. Basically, the context menu only works within my private folder, not my team folder. I work within the Dropbox folder 90% of the time. Hence, I can't use the app. Also, I contacted support regarding this. When they replied after more than a month, their response was some generic copy-paste stuff that makes me believe they didn't spend the time to understand what I was asking. I then responded with more clairity in my error. Only after about a year did i hear from them, again with “does these generic links help?”. Very disapointing.

Does not work at all with Google Drive - constantly crashes. Developer has indicated that they do not intend to fix this and have said to find a replacement, which I will be doing.

I have loved Path Finder for years and was glad to see it in the Setapp list so I could use it again affordably.

I feel like I was able to convert images more easily previously, idk for sure tho but anywho.. I like it more than I dislike it. Still have issues like using my Apple Pencil and Sidecar on my iPad, I continue to inadvertently swipe off different folders or modules from the sidebar or even different panes whenever my pointer gets too close and I accidentally pull away from any of them… swish, they’re gone ha so If I haven’t saved the set yet + can’t rmr which folders were where, it sucks, but mostly tedious. That’s a common thing I’ve noticed with Path Finder, small clicks anywhere where you didn’t mean to click can slow workflows. It would be better if there were some sort of 'lock sidebar’, as in you can’t remove something you swiped away accidentally unless you uncheck that 'Lock Module' doesn’t seem to do much unless it just keeps it there whenever you quit Path Finder, I’m guessing on that tho. So idk, I do like it but smaller details could use some work.

I have to reboot at least once a day because it stops refreshing. Something I know just downloaded doesn’t show up in my downloads folder in PF, but does in Finder. Reload doesn’t help. Nothing short of quitting PF and starting it up again fixes the issue. I’m deleting this app. It just keeps getting worse and more bloated. It takes more work to use this app than it does to just use 2 Finder windows open side-by-side.

So far, I really like it so much better than Finder. Of course, that is not saying much, but it is wonderful having a superior alternative.

I've been using Path Finder outside of Setapp for many, many years, and I've seen it through a lot of different versions. At this point, I'm virtually dependant on it because Finder feels inadequate in comparison. That said, though, Path Finder seems to introduce more new bugs with each major version, too. If you can live with that, then check out Path Finder.
