Overall, I like this tool for parsing multiple PDF files while doing research. In my typical workflow, my PDFs are stored on a NAS mounted to my local system. Traveling, I did not remove the files from my search folder in the app, but obviously couldn’t connect to them being off the network. The app got stuck in a continual loop, trying to connect to the folder storing the PDFs and would not open. The only way I could reset the app was to do an uninstall/reinstall. There should be some functionality to open the app without pointing to the previously saved folders.

Not horrible. Actually, a remarkably useful tool for finding strings (and their variations) in PDF files. And fast, really fast. I added my Evernote PDFs in the thousands and thousands of files on iCloud. Even then, it OCR’d them quickly, and the results are thorough and accurate. Highly recommended.

I like PDF Search for its speed and indexing, but it struggles with real-world cases where names have many spelling variants (e.g., Abdulmohsen, Abdullmohsen, Abdalmohsin). In large collections like hospital directories, this makes searching inefficient, since I have to guess spellings or run multiple queries. The app advertises AI-powered search, but it would be far more useful if there were an option for fuzzy/approximate matching and better handling of similar names/typos. Even a simple toggle to enable “AI fuzzy search” would help users control accuracy vs. flexibility. Adding this feature would turn PDF Search into a much stronger professional tool for people working with big archives of scanned or OCRed documents, where spelling differences are unavoidable.

It is an excellent search utility that is superior to Spotlight, although limited to PDFs. The search results are a graphical interface that shows the matching PDFs; very quick & easy to find what you’re looking for.

You must install something you dont use. THis is a bad solution for something straight forward soluiton.

i have downloaded the pdf converter app so i can search for Not only PDF but it is not working please can you provide support

horrible. Constantly have issues with it, not starting properly then it can't find my iPhone to sync with Mac many other issues also… i do not believe ios or mac have been updated recently either

This app is only appropriate for small collections of PDF files. If you have thousands of PDF files, then you will not be able to find relevant search results and scroll through them quickly. DEVONthink works better.

An absolute lifesaver. Does exactly what I expect. MUCH more reliable than using Spotlight!

I had a 10000-page pdf that was choking other apps I tried, but PDF Search flew through it. Worked great!
