Finally, Spark 3 brings everything you want. I’ve tried countless email apps over the years: Canary, Edison, Airmail, Superhuman, Outlook, Apple Mail, Gmail. In 2025, Spark is by far the best. Simple, helpful, plenty of keyboard shortcuts. It helps me stay on top of email, without feeling overwhelmed. It’s well worth it. Particularly useful for those who like to work to Inbox Zero. Spark also has a similar command centre feature to Superhuman, which is a superpower. Do everything, fast. The best bit is you’re in total control over the features. No need to use AI if you don’t want to. It’s just fantastic. — Edit (17/03/2026): my inbox (Google Workspace) is constantly unable or incredibly slow to refresh. It’s getting very frustrating as I’m having to use my browser to actually use email – defeating the point of having an email client. Both on iOS and MacOS.

I came back to Spark Mail after some years. I uesd to use the free version on iphone only. Now, with Setapp, I use it on the iphone and the Mac and… yeah, I can see the difference. I still don’t use the AI in the app but I like switching views depending on what I’m working on. Needs an advanced version of the settings for the power user I think but I’m glad I can use the gmail tags now…

It is getting worse and worse - Setapp license not recognized - unable to set-up mail that previously workes flawlessly

Issue fixed. ----- The SetApp version has this quirk that it locks up when the last email is deleted within either the Notifications or Newsletters list of Focused-List mode. Have to quit and restart app. I didn't have this problem when using the paid sub desktop version. Does not lock up on mobile. So I have to make sure to always leave a single email in those lists and delete from mobile to get to inbox zero.

I feel very mixed about Spark Mail. Overall it is very good and worth trying. I have found a lot of the shortcuts for manging my inbox super helpful. The AI meeting transciption is great. All of the options for triaging mail in a todo list way has been great. It really had taken me from thousands of unread mails and saying “no” to “did you see that mail” to being on top of my email. That said, I don’t love the look and feel. It doesn’t quite fit in on the 26 OSes. It really needs a new coat of paint. It doesn’t feel like a native app. It feels like an electron app. Maybe it isn’t, I don’t know, but there’s just a 100 little papercuts that make it feel not great. It isn’t an ugly app by any means, but it doesn’t feel like an idiomatic Apple platform app. That said, if you have struggled to keep your email sane try it. If you are a pure function over form person then it may be amazing. I am still not sure how I feel about it. But definitely a capable app.

Broken app. Microsoft (M365) emails do not work (confirmed via support), search is ridicilously bad. Unfortauntely the most basic functions of a mail client do not work well. The saddest part is that despite all of this, Spark is still one of the best apps on the market, and they know this, so they continue to feed us bugs and broken features instead of fixing them because there is no real competiton and we are “stuck” with “pick your poison” scenario. AI features work much better than anywhere else, but it’s still a thumbsdown for now, until they fix two most important core functionalities.

I love the app but I cannot see the left side bar at all on the MAC. I have tried moving to light theme, and changing MAC OS settings. The background of the sidebar stays dark gray while the fonts are light gray. I just cannot use it. I would appreciate any help possible.

Nice email organization tool with small annoyances. The good: this has really helped me get my email under control. Searching tools are much better than the default mac email client. First annoyance: This app really isn’t not well integrated with setapp. The is the only app that doesn’t seem to be able to verify my setapp subscription, so I am unable to use things like integration with Things. Second annoyance: this is the only email client I use that constantly wants to reauthenticate with Windows 365 servers — this may be a Microsofy bug, but every other client I have used manages to work around this issue.

Eine gute Mail App, funktioniert sehr gut. Nur fehlt die App in der Menu Bar, das ist wirklich ein Kritipunkt. Die Synchronisation mit ios und Mac der E-Mail Konten funktioniert auf Anhieb. Nur noch eingeschränkt funktionsfähig! Werde Setapp kündigen, wird immer schlechter — alles!

Fantastic app with AI that helps you everywhere. I could not live without it. I use it everyday and I am able to answer emails anywhere I am, with the phone and with the computer. I am super happy with it and would recommend it to anyone that wants to gain more than 60% of the time they spend with their emails.
