Strongbox gets an automatic thumbs up from me for allowing the user the ability to store their vault completely offline (cloud integration is an option, but not mandatory, like with 1Password). Unfortunately, I cannot recommend Strongbox at this time because the tiny, non‑adjustable fonts on macOS are a dealbreaker. GUI and readability are extremely important — especially on an an app that handles your passwords where a simple mistype can cause enormous problems. You’re interacting with your password manager constantly throughout your day. For customers with low vision, or accessiblity issues, or those who simply work on high DPI screens, legibility is essential and should not be treated as an afterthought. I will update my review if Strongbox addresses this issue in the future.

Another killer app on Setapp. I was a longtime user of 1Password and got so tired of the Electron app that barely functions properly … Enter Strongbox: Apple-native, Cloud-kit enabled sync, clean design, lots of options, responsive support. Woo hoo!

Does its job really well. It’s quick, lightweight, simple to set up, easy to use, and it just works. Sync works smoothly and the app feels solid and trustworthy.

I am very glad that Strongbox joined Setapp. Finally a reason to move away from 1Password and Electron. Thank you for this native, visually apealing app!

This app is great for password management. I’ve been using the iOS & desktop versions for a while and was glad to see this finally appear on SetApp. Secure, easy to setup and works across the browser too which is big for me.

This WOULD be a great password app, but all the other apps on SetApp are pro vesrsions. This one is not. The Chrome extension is unavailable, so you have to go to the app to look up every password and then copy/paste it in the website you are logging into. Too many unnecessary steps….

Strongbox has quickly become my favorite password manager. The app is extremely secure, easy to use, and works flawlessly across all my devices. I really appreciate the clean interface, fast syncing, and the strong focus on privacy. What I love most is how well the app is organized it makes managing all my logins simple and stress-free. Face ID integration is smooth, and the app feels truly dependable. Highly recommended for anyone who wants top-level security and full control of their passwords. Strongbox is absolutely worth it 👍🏽

I’ve been using StrongBox on macOS after finally getting tired of 1Password, and honestly I wish that I’d switched sooner. StrongBox is great. The fact that it just uses a normal KeePass file means I’m not stuck with any company’s cloud or subscription. I dropped the .kdbx in iCloud Drive and it syncs perfectly to my iPhone without any hassle. The app itself feels really polished. Face ID unlock is instant, AutoFill actually works every time in Safari, and I love that I can keep TOTP codes right in the same database. The Have I Been Pwned check is built in and super handy. Everything is fast, no weird bugs that I’ve noticed. Everything works nicely so far. It’s exactly what I wanted: simple, private, and does the job better than the big names. Very happy with it so far.

The best macOS/iOS password manager, open to the world by using the Keepass format. Native interface, powerful features. It’s just an excellent piece of software.

I’m happily using this app for many month with the pro abonnement directly from App Store. Now I can cancel my abo and use the same app over my SetApp subscription - very nice! StrongBox works very well for me as a replacement for the iCloud Keychain.

In Quick Search results, you should have an icon to View Actions (now users have to use the [->] key to do it), also allow right click on a result to quick select an action.

I am originally a 1Password user for some years. But proce went up and up, so stepped over to Msec through Setapp. Since that one stepped out, I have migrated to Strongbox. Looks kind of good, and I give it a thumbs up although it is having some flaws wrt my used case: There are too little ‘templates’, and particularly one importnt one missing: a ‘License’ template. I have found a workaround through creating a blank entry with custom fields that I duplicate, but that is kind of cumbersome. There are two standard ones that work fine: login and creditcard. An additional problem is that there are some sites that just don’t work with autofill. For example disneyplus.com. Autofill is just not finding those login entries that are in the database… So, good enough at the moment but not entirely happy yet. And to my opinion it is therefore not yet the best password manager there is as some are suggesting. Hope that the Strongbox team keeps improving the app.

Strongbox is one of my favorite password manager apps ever. I’m so glad that it’s on Setapp now and that Strongbox Pro is included. I had been using 1Password for years and recently migrated all of my passwords over to Strongbox and the process was super easy and seamless. I love how I can set up multiple databases for my passwords, the included audit features, and the ability to autofill across all of my browsers including Safari, Chrome, and Firefox.
