Where has the stable and reliable Bartender gone? With so many bugs and a terrible user experience, it's no longer a decent product. It constantly messes up my carefully configured menu bar. This abysmal product experience is incredibly frustrating. I've been hoping for improvements so I could continue using it, but after several updates, the experience remains consistently poor and difficult to use. I'm completely disillusioned. I'm going to look for an alternative menu bar icon management tool. The developers of Bartender are just...unacceptable.

I understand all the constraints from macOS, but the amount of mouse jumps, glitches, and instability is honestly insane. I've been buying and using Bartender on several Macs for the last 6 years, and this is the first time I'm uninstalling it. Shame.

Since the new version 6 update, Bartender passively uses huge amount of energy. I literally have to switch it off when travelling. In the last 12 hours it used more than Cursor and Microsoft Teams combined.. almost as much as my browser Dia running on Chromium (which makes no sense)

Six months later this app has gone from great to terrible. I mean really terrible. OK, it’s one thing Apple changing its OS and making this harder. But not being able to remember settings - that’s just basic. The app has no place on SetApp anymore. They’ve had their time.

Bartender is so indispensable it should be a os feature. must have. Sadly development lately is not really up to standard. the app has become bug ridden, nearing useless and even dangerous. Bartender should test twice before releasing more features. the endless chase of new stuff is making lovers of the app quit, and it won’t make the new ones stay.

Sadly, this app is absolutely useless since the latest updates. It never saves my layout, extensions come and go in the menubar as they like, it's pretty wild. Frankly, I don't understand why this app is still on offer. (I mean, outside of Setapp they still sell it, which borders on theft, imho) Used to be great - not anymore. Sad.

It was the best thing for your mac, been using it since… god… more than 10 years… But since the Sequoia or Tahoe update it became a cpu hogg :( slows down my M1 considerably. Just gave it another try and even in the “manual mode” it still does it :( It was great while it lasted, I’m afraid apple is making it harder and harder for them to manage the menu… shame :(

Still laggy after million updates: huge delays in bar items updates, crashes after fullscreen apps and a lot of same buggy stuff

Game changer. My cluttered bar is now more like the windows expandable one

Used to be a really useful app, but lately I tend to have to quit it because layout shifts; inability to click on icons that are in the hidden section without the menu changing; numerous glitches; dark/light mode weirdness…. hard to explain all the bugs but Bartender rarely is useful now.

Buggy - cannot remove screen recording icon

Oooff - tough experience. Love the idea of it and the thought and understanding of what people are looking for, but my two-week long experience was me trying to fight the thing and I just couldn’t do it any more. People obviously swear by it, but I probably spent 2 hours a day tweaking the thing, which is honestly fun, but when half of the moves you’re making are reverted to their original place or somewhere altogher different it’s no bueno. Mised clicks nonstop, frozen bars, Mouse pointer jumping to another monitor. Would definitely come back if people say the water is nice again, but not for me right now!

Works well and easy to use

It's become overnight useless. It's like loading and arranging the menu bar items continuously and moving the cursor towards the bar and I cannot use my computer. I am forced to uninstall it because of that

After the latest update, Bartender is finally useable again! 🎉

Keep up the excellent work! The new Top Shelf in the latest update is undoubtedly the cherry on top! Please ensure that the widget tray can accommodate 3 widgets simultaneously. Wishing you all the best!

Bartender Pro slows down the entire macOS UI and makes it unresponsive. Scrolling becomes choppy in every window across the system, and the only way to restore normal performance is to force-quit the app.
