I have an annoying issue that everytime I boot up my MacBook Pro it asks me to Install the Helper for AlDente Pro. And sometimes when I install the helper it doesn't work all, that well, because I set it to stop when it reaches 80%, and keeps going until 100%, I need to quit the app, launch it again and move the slider above and below 80% in order to start discharging to 80%. UPDATE: 05/23/2026, Although the helper problem is fixed, now I have memory leak issues, sometimes when I woke up the laptop from a "sleep" state it consumes up to 37GB of RAM, I've only 18GB RAM, so that’s a real problem, I have to reboot the macbook altogether in order to workaround this issue. I hope is fixed soon because never the less, is a great app.

Its a great application. I now have my battery all primed for a good lifetime use.

An essential app even with Tahoe 26.4 battery improvements. I have used it for several years. You must RTFI (Read The Fine Instructions) in order to tailor it to your needs. It definitely prolongs battery life & health with fully optimized settings!

Edit: it doesn’t work anymore. I wish it got fixed. AlDente is a no-brainer because it allows me to forget about plugging and unplugging my Macbook from time to time to protect the battery. I almost always work on a desktop next to an electrical outlet, and a few years ago the battery got bloated and I had to replace it.

It’s a good software for Mac OS.

The app needs to be running to prevent the machine from charging, so it doesn’t work if it’s turned off or waiting for login. Of course this is an understandable macOS security limitation, so try remembering to login as soon as the system starts (you can lock the screen right after if needed) and to disconnect from power when turning it off. The app itself is the best as it can be.

I still use this even though Apple has incorporated the ability to limit charging starting with Tahoe 26.4. Very versatile. This is one of my go to apps.

It’s a good app. It does what it claims to do. Hopefully, it can save my m1 pro battery life !

It saved my battery life

I have had enough. This app completely broken on macOS 26.5 and drain my entire battery overnight leaving me an unusable MacBook Pro in the morning.

Very good and smart software! It helps me to protect my macbook well.

Installed AlDente on my 2019 MacBook Pro with a basically dead battery and it helped me keep things running before I could replace the battery. The feedback and settings are fantastic and I’m sure I’ll get many more years out of this battery. 10/10
