The app needs to be running to prevent the machine from charging, so it doesn’t work if it’s turned off or waiting for login. Of course this is an understandable macOS security limitation, so try remembering to login as soon as the system starts (you can lock the screen right after if needed) and to disconnect from power when turning it off. The app itself is the best as it can be.

I still use this even though Apple has incorporated the ability to limit charging starting with Tahoe 26.4. Very versatile. This is one of my go to apps.

It’s a good app. It does what it claims to do. Hopefully, it can save my m1 pro battery life !

Installed AlDente on my 2019 MacBook Pro with a basically dead battery and it helped me keep things running before I could replace the battery. The feedback and settings are fantastic and I’m sure I’ll get many more years out of this battery. 10/10

I used this app just like I was supposed to for four years my battery still ended up going down to 79% and needing servicing after just 200 cycles. I honestly don't think this makes any difference whatsoever and potentially might even make things worse. I don't know for sure, but I do know its unlikely to make a positive difference, and won't be using it again

An essential app even with Tahoe 26.4 battery improvements. I have used it for several years. You must RTFI (Read The Fine Instructions) in order to tailor it to your needs. It definitely prolongs battery life & health with fully optimized settings!

Edit: it doesn’t work anymore. I wish it got fixed. AlDente is a no-brainer because it allows me to forget about plugging and unplugging my Macbook from time to time to protect the battery. I almost always work on a desktop next to an electrical outlet, and a few years ago the battery got bloated and I had to replace it.

Faisait parfaitement son travail jusqu’à quelques jours où l’application plante à chaque redémarrage et je suis obligé de désinstaller puis réinstaller pour que cela refonctionne

A veces no responde, cuando enciendo el Mac… a veces sale un popap, diciendo que, hay que instalar un DMG…no entiendo nada. A veces responde y otras veces no.
