Seems to constantly get confused on its layout. Icons jump all over the place when selected.

The app keeps removing some apps from the menu bar. I have to keep going in and refreshing and dragging these apps back. Then randomly a few days later they dissapear again. Too buggy

As others have mentioned, Bartender has become extremely buggy since they started adding new "features" a few years ago. These are mostly useless cruft, but they've also rendered the core app un-useable. Recently I've been getting random crash warnings related to Bartender and have had to uninstall it.

Bartender used to be excellent, not too slow and buggy. Hard to use, overly complex maybe? Sorry but I have to find an alternative!

Works fine most of the time. I don’t have that many items in my bar, so I’m fine. The one thing that could be improved is when you temporaily add an item, by clicking it from the menu that appears when you click the bartender item, the temp item gets added on the left. I’d like to have it added, so that my favourite item, SmashTunes, always is the left most item. Maybe there’s a setting for it, but I’ve not been able to find it. (There are maybe too many settings.)

Does not work reliably anymore and is extremely frustrating to use with four monitors. Constant screen refreshes and freezes make it a poor choice to get things done. After testing various options, I switched to Barbee.

O Bandenter é um bom app e cumpre bem a proposta. A interface é prática, a ideia é útil e, no geral, ele funciona bem no dia a dia. Porém, existem alguns bugs que incomodam a experiência. Um exemplo é que, ao adicionar certos ícones/apps, depois de reiniciar o aplicativo eles simplesmente somem da lista/configuração. Isso passa uma sensação de instabilidade, porque o usuário precisa configurar tudo de novo. Minha sugestão é melhorar a persistência das configurações e revisar esse comportamento após reiniciar o app. Com esses ajustes, o Bandenter tem potencial para ficar bem mais confiável e agradável de usar.

didn’t realize you can just hold cmd and drag icons on the menu bar, man apple’s annoying… but, maybe that’s a new feature and why this app doesn’t work any more? I’m a recent apple convert, shockingly poor design compared to windows lol I wanted to give it a thumbs up in the hopes that it’s going to work eventually but going by the other reviews I’m not so sure. Setapp’s only supposed to have good apps, right? I think part of the monthly fee is the apps are supposed to be curated so there’s only good ones… I could be wrong about that though. I’m not sure if the developer can reply to reviews on here, but the lack of acknowledgment is worrying. I don’t know if the dev gave up, or the issues lie with tahoe, who knows? why does the icon in the menu bar change from filled to hollow when I click it, what is that even doing? but yeah just hold cmd and drag the icons no need for this app from what I can tell

It keeps the menu bar clean, doesn’t get in the way as I work, and lets me access all my menu bar items easily. What more can I ask?

No funciona bien y no la actualizan desde hace bastante. Anda muy mal con Apple MacOS. Ya no es una buena opción.

Definitely a thumbs up, historically speaking. But there’s fa-a-a-r too much erratic behavior in Bartender nowadays for that rating. Used to be (very!) helpful, now it’s quite the opposite. I’ve switched to Barbee, and don’t think I’ll be returning.

When I format my bars for each preset it always reverts back.

It seems to be a mess at hiding and showing items.

Very helpful to get control over the menubar items !! Recommended

seems since recent Mac updates this application has got worse, constantly crashes or glitches.

It interferes with mouse behavior.

Doesn’t work, it hides all items

Does not work on macos26 at allt, icons constantly shift around, never stays in place, screen recording icons (bartender) takes up space. Ice has noen of these issue, even the beta is better.

Good times are gone. Does no longer work reliably. Can not unhide icons and is not updating correctly.

Very slow and takes huge amount of RAM
