The good: I use it on macOS and with my own local LLM (using Ollama). It is convenient and works. There are other free alternatives, but this works easier. The bad: 1. Setapp basic LLM credit allotments is not sufficient for anything meaningful and if I shoudl pay for them, it is cheaper to buy OpenAI/Geminy and use it directly through their app. 2. Their app for iOS is useless, it is basically keybnoard, not Elephas app, even though I have M3 iPad which can run pretty powerful local LLM models. Overall: not sure this is useful tool for most. If you are epxerienced enough to make this work locally with good enough LLM models, you are good enough to find free alternatives, like Witsy for macOS or Apollo on iOS. Unless you need smarter keyboard, but you will likely run out of credits quickly.

The lack of integrations feature in Setapp version is a pretty huge flaw - especially when app ‘integration’ is presented as a key feature in the screenshots and description. This wouldn’t be as big an issue if setapp allowed you to upgrade to the pro version of the app. Also, I have read osme of the other comments and responses: the reason for the ‘confusion’ is not because of the screenshots (although they are misleading) - it is because it is not expressly stated in the description that integration not included, and that upgrading to Pro is also not an option. I appreciate the effort put into the app - perhaps don;t negelct to put a little effort into accurate representation. PS.Support Chat window is very glitchy, disappears half off screen and window can’t be closed or dragged/repositioned. Very frustrating when seeking support leads to more problems! Hopefully you can fix these problems and have a fine app on your hands. Thanks.

Advertised features not available in SetApp version. Despite the developers responding to another comment that they don’t advertise integrations and other pro features in SetApp, that is quite clearly incorrect as they quite clearly have a screenshot with integration features on the product. Additionally, they provide absolutely zero control over the chunking strategy used for super brain documents, making it nearly useless since it by default chunks my documents into extremely tiny chunks, making any kind of contextual responses impossible… I tested this app two years ago and am honestly shocked this has not changed as it is a nearly useless RAG implementation for most uses in its current state.

Bloaty app, slow to use. Feels unmaintained as well.

I was having problems with my API key but the app did not give me any error to indicate that. It just simply would not work until I realized the issue.

Never working

Great idea. A few too many rough edges at this point to make it usable for me. For example, questions against documents sometimes work and sometimes return blanks.

Brilliant app very underrated I use it with all my API keys for Chat GTP and Claude but also with LM Studio so I can use it off-line again great app very underrated. Update: Does not seem to be updated often, and doesn't move at the same pace as many other apps. For example, LM Studio, Anything LLM or Typing Mind. For instance, I'm trying to create an agent for Perplexity, but that seems to be impossible. It’s also quite overpriced lifetime version is US$349 nearly AUD 600 which is crazy when Anything LLM with similar features is free.

Integrations not available?!!!!!

Please can you advise if the integration features are available via Setapp subscription?

Love the concept. I see it’s heading in a good direction. It feels like you haven’t nailed the core value prop before trying to add a lot of flexibility. The UI is a bit confusing, and I wasn’t really able to get the information I needed from the files I uploaded. Not sure why. But you need to focus on the magic moment for the customer. I went on the discord, and I can see you are really engaged, and I think you’ll get somewhere with this, but it’s not ready for what I need.

I’m with Fabio. I did not realize that there was a “pro” version for Elephas. I find it disingenious to insinuate there are all these “integrations”. You even put the Obsidian logo up there on your screen shot. I understand Setapp is a value based tool but still.

I put in my API key for ChatGPT and Gemini, which I paid for both, but whenever I use proofreading command, it says I’ve run out of my ChatGPT quota. It is completely broken and I cannot use this app.

No integration

Integration feature is not available for Setapp users. The whole idea is to bring data from different sources. Without that feature, it is not a usefull application at all.

a little heads up in the product description dentoing that this is the “lite” version would have been very helpful before wasted an hour trying to figure out why there was no Integration options available. steep learning curve toi realize that you need to cough up more $$ to get practical use of the app (for my purposes).

It doesn’t work with Setapp credits

Is this a full version? The documentation explains how to set up integrations and autosync, but I can’t find these options in the app downloaded from Setapp. Shouldn’t the version in Setapp be the full version, as for almost every app here?

I so so very much want to like this! When it works it’s amazing but it keeps crashing on me. I can’t even finish writing my prompt before it crashes.
