Easy to use and straightforward. Stable app that just works. The only downside: it doesn’t seem to allow for filtered searching that remains visible after a new search is performed. The results list can be pretty extensive, and once an item is chosen, the list is cleared and you need to re-enter and wait until the results list is populated again. EDIT March 2026: the app no longer seems to function as before. It constantly freezes and can only be stopped by a force quit. PS: after having been in touch with support: it’s quite easy to get back to proper operation by doing a full uninstall and re-install, which will then resolve most issues. You will loose your content in the process though.

Folx has been a pain as has Safari been a pain for some time now I had hoped OS26.2 and 26.3 would fix the issues, but NO. I gave up and have just wiped the Hard Drive and down loaded OS26.3, Safari and Folx are both working now.

Great app! Downloads quickly. Good UI

Haven’t downloaded torrents in years. Used to use microtorrent on Windows PC. Folx on Mac seems pretty good so far, although have not figured out how to cycle through active torrents when top torrents are not downloading but some of the lower torrents on my list might actually have active torrents but are not active since not at top of my list.

Folx runs for 30 seconds to 2 minutes and then locks up. After that, it must be force-quit. It’s a completely unusable app.

Not sure how to rate this app. It does exactly what I want and does it pretty well. I use it to track, control, and speed up large downloads from websites… However, got a new Ubiquity router with a lot better monitoring of the traffic on my network and I have found out that this app has been reaching out and connecting an unknown amount of machines to pre-connect for torrent downloads. I have never used a torrent with this app. It is disappointing that this is on by default, maybe only turn these features once someone uses a torrent file. I found in a years old reddit post, that if you want to disable this functionality go to Settings -> Torrents -> Peers and then turn off the 3 options in the middle for DHT Network, Local Peer Discovery, and Peer Exchange.

Folx is the only game in town as far as I’m concerned.

Fast and effective, even when used in conjunction with a VPN

This app used to be so good, now its unusable. Crashes everytime I open, add a torent, mid download. So disappointing.

Sadly I can’t get it to work consistently anymore, it freezes.

The app stopped being usable. Any big files to download - and it freezes. Start several downloads of medium/bigger files - and it freezes. At this point, it’s unreliable so I would not recommend using it. Maybe try to find a differents solution.

The app extension literally does not function on Safari or Chrome to grab downloads. Also, It has not been updated since May 30, 2024 on Chrome Web Store. Please fix the extension releated issues. Thinking about going back to FDM.

I don’t torrent often but, when I do, it’s with Folx all the way. Simple interface but requires you to understand how torrenting works.

Does not work. I tried to download a video on Chrome and it just gave me a bunch of gobbledegook.

Please update the app to fully support of apple silicon.
