This is the best lmao. Brightened my day! Nice to get to enjoy so many different thocks without having to pull keycaps. And I can be silent when I need to.

Yes, but now I have to spend 100% of my time with headphones on so that my wife doesn’t kick me out of the house 😂.

a fun little app to bring a touch of mechanical keyboard sounds to your non mechanical keyboard.

I thought this was very silly when I first saw it, but figured I’d give it a shot. As someone that usually hates the sound of keyboard keys, I have to say this app is very fun and it does bring me joy. Would be fun to have mouse clicks for trackpad users as well.

this is a great simple little app that adds a generous amount of sensory delight into my daily experience, and it never gets old. like an infinite clack-click-thock enjoyment enhancement module for my personal computing device. i would rate it as extremely satisfactory. i’d love to see an option for a “click” sound triggered by tapping the trackpad, similar to analog R&L mouse buttons. anyone who uses my macbook gets a huge kick out of JoyTap, and so do i.

Hey 👋. Thanks for the kind words 🙏. I agree with you; I also think the idea of adding feedback to touchpad clicks is great. It is already on my backlog. However, I'm not sure when I'll be able to start working on this update. Always in touch!

A charming way to engage with your keyboard: part vintage, part retro, and decidedly geeky. I quite like it! 😅

Me gusta el sonido… lo unico que mejoraria seria el que las teclas tuvieran un sonido mas organico… osea, que no haya tanta diferencia entre teclas.

I’ve been looking for this for years, and I wish Apple built it into the OS. Sadly, this is another app that is too obtrusive or awkward for what it does. 1. ALL the many sounds emulate old mechanical keyboards. I don’t care about “sounds from my youth;” I just want auditory feedback. 2. It has now stuck a small but permanent window into my screen. It says “open settings to close this tip,” but WHAT settings? From Setapp? From this app? (The window does not mention the name of the app, so it took several minutes to figure that out!) Nothing I have tried gets rid of the window. SETAPP Background apps should be UNOBTRUSIVE. This one isn’t.

Hey, Roger 👋. I'm very sorry you had a negative experience with JoyTap 🙏. I completely understand your feedback about the sounds. JoyTap is definitely designed for retro lovers. Regarding the window, to get rid of it, just open the JoyTap main menu once. But I know that for some users, the new menu bar icons are hidden by default. For example, because of Bartender. And then this can be confusing, as happened in your case.

wish there was a way to boost the sounds more but absolutely love this program. EDIT: Yes, I would love to be able to boost the volume beyond 100% without another external program to do that.

It is a nice app - but the annoying “You’re all set!” does not go away - neither with right click nor through settings”. would be nice, if there would be a clickable check item to close the menu-

Hey, Sven 👋. Thank you for your feedback and attention, especially considering that your experience with JoyTap wasn't perfect 🙏. The "You're all set!" popup should disappear after opening the app's main menu for the first time 🤔. If the issue persists, I'm always available at [email protected].
