I’ve tried a lot of battery and power apps, and this is the one I like best. It makes it easy to see the battery’s current state at a glance. The menu bar dropdown clearly shows extra battery info, including connected devices, and gives you a one-click shortcut to macOS battery settings or to toggle Low Power Mode. One area for improvement would be more detail on connected devices — for example, showing when an iPhone is charging or an Apple Watch is critically low and needs charging. My favourite feature is the visual and audio alerts, especially the audio alert. I’ve accidentally disconnected the MagSafe cable many times and only noticed at 5% battery that my MacBook wasn’t charging. This app fixes that by playing an alert and showing a full-screen warning whenever my MacBook disconnects from power. I’ve even created custom scripts and Shortcuts to solve this before, but this app does it better, and in a much more polished way. It’s become an essential quality-of-life app for me.

I like it so far. Anyway, it can monitor all batteries and not just my MacBook battery?

Thanks for your feedback! Dom, the developer of Juicy here. Currently Juicy does only monitor your Macbook battery. Support for all your devices is a cool idea and I'll def see what I can do!

Nice application but like to know which data on my macbook for health is correct? The app shows 83% and the information of apple saying 88%. But it is ideal to watch charging

Hi Gerrit, thanks for the kind words! Both numbers are correct, they're just measured differently. macOS shows a smoothed battery health figure that Apple filters over time, while Juicy reads the battery's raw maximum capacity directly and compares it to the original design capacity. That raw value tends to read a little lower and more conservatively, which is why Juicy often sits a few points under the System Settings number. Neither is more "true" than the other. What matters most is the trend over time, and both will track downward together as the battery ages. In my opinion the raw value is more honest in the moment and reacts faster to real degradation so that's why I decided to use it but feel free to follow Apple's number as well :) And you're right that watching your charging habits is the best thing you can do for long term battery health.

Great app It let’s me keep an eye on batteries of other devices, which is helpful as my autistic daughter will use her ipads until they shutdown. It let’s me make sure she has a fully charged ipad when we go out.

I was caught recently with my battery nearly going to 5%, so that's why I installed this plug-in, for the extra alerts, but what it still needs is a charge to full option when it's running on optimized battery. I'll do this if I'm going to go out and I need my Mac fully charged.

I love this app! The battery notifications are so low key but key catching all at the same time - simply beautiful! For development, I’d like to be able to choose the type of glow for individual alerts - I know it can be customised as an overall setting but a minimal glow for one of my earlier alerts followed by a more intense one for later ones… some extra colour choices would be cool. On the menu bar, I choose the juicy logo as I also use AlDente which gives me my battery level - I’m not against the Juicy logo colour matching the battery mode (or alert colour) :-)

Looks great; trying it out as replacement to the built-in battery indicator. One issue I ran into right away: on a multiple monitor setup, the battery warning alert displays on the main screen (e.g., laptop screen) but the border colour displays on a different screen (the active one, I believe). This while while testing during onboarding.

Hi there, I'm Dominik, the developer of Juicy. Thanks so much for the feedback regarding your issue with multiple screens. I'm sorry for the experience. This is a very common Mac menu bar app issue. I will look into what is causing this and we'll fix it with a new version update. Thanks for bringing this to my attention.
