It’s good. However it doesn’t look for apps in ~/Applications, which can be frustrating. I would say that it’s a decent app and document launcher, though.

Not working as described.

Works in English only.

The new spotllight behavior is requiring two steps to just open top hit app. Lacona is not helping me to type app name and hit enter to open the app. I have to hit Command+Enter or press down and hit enter.

For any "power-tool" type app, integrations, plugins, and extensibility is key. Lacona doesn't offer the kind of customizability or extensibility needed to really adopt it into my workflows. I would like to be able to add my own plugins and be able to query from other data sources for fuzzy match.

eeh, not so great as expected. some apps, such as webstorm because they aren’t installed in applications folder directly don’t even show up, but they do in spotlight

Even though I enjoyed some of its features, its just too laggy and crashes too often. Will revisit a later version, but currently it was impacting my workflow negatively instead of improving it.

sorry, i really wanted to like this but it literally does NOTHING. im running ventura but i dont think thats why; if that were the case you’d think they wouldn’t make it available at all (if for no other reason than people thinking its useless and giving bad reviews).

Cant really do much. Dead app with stalled development. Developer seems to have given up after the 2020 lockdown.

The authors decided to remove twitter functionality because they “cannot support the platform”. I think they’re forgetting that it’s the users who support the authors, and removing functionality is like getting money and then not delivering what was promised.

Every launch it’s like it’s starting for the first time. Check “Don’t show again” and it shows the very next reboot. Hasn’t been updated in over a year, it shows.

never found it useful enough to remember to use it instead of doing the same task my current way

Great app but can sometimes feel a little kludgy, and it’s hard for it to feel as responsive as native Spotlight, but it does so much more so the tradeoff is worth it.

This app freezes all the time and doesn’t let my Mac sleep. Use Raycast or Alfred.

I think that there are better applicaitons than this. As far as paid applicaitons go, Alfred is superior in most ways. As far as free applications go Raycast is excellent and has more versatility than Lacona. Nonetheles, I think this is a decent app. However, I was quite concerned with the developer’s decision to pull twitter support due to his own persoan beliefs (clearly indicated on his own twitter). While I respect everyone’s opinion, he should not forget that he made an App for the customers who pay for the product. Taking away existing fucntionality due to vague political beleifs is not okay, even if I personally happen to agree with any of those beliefs. I cannot support someone who intentionaly lowers the quality of their product and punishes their customers only to prove a personal point. Given this unprfoessional behavior and the fact that other, more capable software is readily available, I cannot trecommend this product.

Lacona 1 was excellent. Even just one feature alone was a killer for me at work… being able to just type “rmt meet with Bob at 2pm” and have Lacona set a reminder (rmt = “remind me to…”) with a title of “meet with Bob” at 2pm. I can do the same command verbally, but in an office setting, I don’t want certain reminders to be out loud. The new Lacona has completely lost this functionality, and I now have to fully spell it all out, like, “create reminder in List Title [date]…” it’s way too cumbersome, and tedious. This is the same through the rest of the app, and all the shortcut commands are gone, and there are no configurations for shortcuts. It’s basically a useless copy of Spotlight.

great accessibility app. useful to navigate around applications quicker! highly recommend.
