The app is overall worth installing. However, the Moonlock Protection component disable net connection for me: ISSUE: Moonlock 2.11.1 (2604011516), installed through Setapp, caused internet access to fail across all apps on my MacBook Pro agamac.local/M4. Restarting the Mac twice did not help. DIAGNOSTICS: Network diagnostics showed that websites returned valid TCP responses, but Moonlock’s system content filter closed the connections locally before apps received them. Moonlock logs repeatedly reported: “No current verdict available, cannot report flow closed.” SOLUTION: Disabling Moonlock Protection under System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions → Endpoint Security Extensions immediately restored internet access. Google and Apple returned HTTP 200, and VPN/Tailscale reconnected successfully.[ REQUEST: Please investigate the Moonlock content-filter failure. It took a while to figure out just what was causing the internet failure.

Yet another MacPaw app with a frustrating, intrusive, unskippable intro animation WITH SOUND that has absolutely no reason whatsoever to be there, none, there is no informational or tutorial content in it, no way to skip it, and after that it’s more of the same bloated, poofy, Fisher-Price, computers-for-babies interface with sounds and unnecessary lengthy animations because heaven forbid you click a normally-sized button with normal descriptions and no cartoons that quickly takes you to what you want. I think it’s time to cancel my SetApp subscription and accept that MacPaw has fully lost the plot.

I can’t begin to tell you how please I am with the progress that MacPaw has made with developing Moonlock! I feel fully confident that my Mac is protected with Moonlock. It also has the best UI of any Mac antivirus I have ever seen :-) The only thing I want to see, is Moonlock participating in independent lab test on sites such as AV-Test.org. Other than this, I highly recommend it.

Disapointing. I do the scans and never find anything wron. Yet I have Norton Ultimate and it is always finding and rempving bugs. Even Microsoft Defender finds Malware on my Mac. I cannot remember one single report from Moonlock that it had found Malware. I am sorry, but it does not appear to be up to the task.

The number one downside for me is the VPN experience. After attempting to start the VPN, it did not work at all no matter how many times I tried. The last time I tried, it completely killed my ability to connect to the internet, even after uninstalling the app. I had to restart my computer just to send this review, and I’m still having trouble using Google Chrome.

Beautiful design consistency

very useful app! I loved it!

I like the app, it leaves me alone to get on with work. I check every now and again against other software and it is catching as much as some and more than others. I am not technical in any way so I could be being fooled by anyone, its nice to know that your back is covered.

Liked the concept but the Moonlock helper slowed my mac to a crawl and drained the battery - Something is very amiss with this at the moment

Good software for cleanign any undesirable malware and good suggestions on how to keep your mac safe, clear and free from any viruses or cyberattacks

The app is a bit basic from my perspective, I can’t see any additonal value different from what Clean my Mac already offered
