Very buggy, badly designed, very frustrating to work with. Trying to do something as simple as editing text feels like I’m a gladiator fighting in an arena.

After the lates update (26.0) OCR destroys the PDF files. Some pages disappear, others are doubled. Some pages are halved horizontally. I used to like Nitro PDF, but right now the app is completely useless.

It’s very finicky for simple pdf updates and signing. The signing does not work well for docs with multiple signatures required

I was able to add fill-in forms to a pdf someone sent me. Very useful!

Not intuitive enough for simple PDF editing tasks - difficult to manipulate file size too

By far the best PDF reader I’ve used. No gimmicks. Intuitive interface, and prints files without asking for a money-requiring upgrade!

Nitro acquired PDF Pen and it is carrying on and improving the tool. It's good to see some changes.

Cannot prepare and send a PDF for signing

Nitro PCF used to be called something else then I think it was sold. Before it was sold it would always crash scaning documents of more than, say, 40 pages. Then it improved and now it is back to its old form: crashing frequently or simply failing to communicate acrose our very small LAN. I have a lot of nostalgie for formerly broken software that aspires to set new records of frastration.

The app is very feature rich and power packed but sadly not suited to be my default PDF reader. Every time I open a file with Nitro from Finder, the select a file to open window opens in addition to the file itself. Very annoying. I’m demoting Nitro to be my on-demand PDF editor, not my default PDF app.

This is the only non-Acrobat application I have found that automatically rotates pages as it is performing OCR. It works great!

v26.0 update OCR Document function crashes everytime on macOS Sequoia, while the previous versions did not. _____________________________ This app was formerly PDFPen Pro. I had been a user of the formerly named app for a few years so I am already familiar with the nuances (e.g., the difference between the tools Edit and Precision Edit, when they should really be combined). Batch OCR of documents is convenient. OCR engine used here is Kofax Omnipage, but I think I prefer the ABBYY finereader engine. A colleague has enjoyed using the Windows version of Nitro for a number of years. The Mac and Win versions are still two very different applications. I hope to see the Mac team adopt some of the Win features, and not just stay a reskin of the old.

OCR is worse than its predecessor PDFPen Pro 13.1. Usability, stability have not been improved at all it seems. At least on my end the performance went down.

I’m trying to do something fairly simple - combine 3 PDFs into 1 document. And while the Nitro App Developer clearly point this out as a feature, it does not exist in the app. I’m running the most recent version of the software, 26.0, and I don’t have the ‘Combine’ buttons that the tutorial shows. I’m guessing they have removed this basic feature. I wonder what else they have removed.

THis app is really buggy. It crashed multiple times when trying to read a pdf. I’m probably going to uninstall.

Pretty good at managing form fields in PDF templates.
