Hi there, Right now, the translation language can be adjusted through the prompt used for the Translate action in app Settings > Actions. You can edit the prompt and specify the target language there.

Cannot use it, always get “API error: Setapp Al credits exhausted. Check your Setapp subscription.” These is no problem with my Setapp subscription. “Setapp Al+ is active, Al access is included in your Setapp subscription. No extra API key needed. “ I also checked “Use Apple Intelligence if Setapp Al is unavailable”

Hi there, Thanks for reporting this. This error is related to Setapp AI+ availability/credits, so it may not be something PinchBar can resolve directly on its side. That said, we’d still like to take a closer look and understand why Apple Intelligence fallback didn’t work as expected. Could you please contact us at [email protected] and include a screenshot of the error and your PinchBar AI provider settings? That would help us investigate the issue better.

I started using the app recently and am really enjoying it. However, I found an issue when using it with the Windows App (AVD). If you select text, it gets replaced with a few 'c' characters. I tried adding it to the ignored apps list, but I still encounter the same issue.

Hi Simon, Thanks for the kind words — we’re glad you’re enjoying PinchBar. The issue with selected text being replaced by a few “c” characters in Windows App / AVD definitely doesn’t sound expected. We’ll investigate what’s causing it and work on a fix. Thank you for bringing that to our attention.

I really like this little fella. Two things though … 1. the little crab tends be in the way, especially with PopCap enabled 2. With Bartender installed after every update the icon gets moved to the ‘Always hidden’ section that prevents the app from launching and getting access to the settings.

Hi there, Thanks a lot — we’re really happy you like PinchBar. We understand both points. We’ll look into making the crab less intrusive, especially when PopCap is enabled, and we’ll also check what’s happening with Bartender after updates so accessing PinchBar and its settings stays reliable.

*UPDATE: developer suggestion fixed copy/paste issue. Fact Check is still weak (but it’s a difficult problem.) Doesn’t seem to work as it should. You have to select text, copy it, open the applet, select it again, and then you can do things with it. It’s actually more steps than what native programs provide. For example, the “fact check” feature which could be very handy, won’t just let you select text and hit Ctrl 3. You have to go through all the steps above - which is more steps than just using ChatGPT. It’s also not very good at fact checking.
