This app has come a long way. They dev has put a lot of work into making Sidebar a worthy Dock replacement. All doc replacements I tried over the years including Sidebar just didn't provide enough over the default macOS Dock to make them worthwhile. But with all the recennt improvements, I gave Sidebar another try and now it's my default dock. A few features are still a little rough around the edges, but overall it's finally to the point where I no longer even think about going back to the default Dock.

A few display inconsistencies keep this from being installed full time, here is a link to a screencapture of the most glaring error, https://cln.sh/sgL3grHQ. Also it makes Photoshop comstantly shift to not overlay Sidebar, otherwise a solid alternative to the dock. UPDATE: Not sure what happened, but my issues have been resolved and am digging it now. Nice work overall!

All bugs have been resolved; this app is amazing. I love just because I can finally hide the dock (and I can do it on all screens).

My adobe premiere kept on crashing yesterday so I had to stop using it.

This app is meant to replace an older app called UBar. It does not fully cover the featureset of the older app. It looks much worse and does not have the looks that I really liked with UBar.

I’ve tried all the Dock replacements out there and this is, by far, the best one. I really cannot understand all the negative ratings here on Setapp. Sometimes I wonder if people even tried the app, or adjust settings to their needs instead of just instantly complaining. Keep up the great work!

The developer has obviously worked hard to address previous issues, as it now seems fairly straightforward to set up and works as expected. It repays patience as you learn how the interface works, and then it becomes second nature.

Mostly good, but I don't think it shows all the running icons but I'm not sure yet. I need to experiment more and I haven't had time.

Very useful app, constantly developed so much better than ubar I was using previously! There are ton of customizations to make it really fit your needs. The only thing I am missing is a sort of search in the app settings (there are so many custom settings that I found myself several times lost in the settings menu) - maybe sort of search Chrome has for its settings would be useful - I know the keyword, but do not know where to look for it.

the size of the bar is too small, the icons are way to small for me to read, so i uninstalled it.

The Sidebar app is essential for using macOS; it really helped me organize my dock.

The program is fine, but hangs every day or two. It just stops responding to user input, but can be shut down gracefully via Activity Monitor. It also hangs every time a VPN connection is established.

In my opinion it is a great app that gives you more functionality for your Mac. I moved from Linux/Windows and missed the way the Dock behaves - this app provides similar functionality. Lots of settings to customise. Yes, there are some bugs (but minor ones), but they outweight the usefulness and the love you get out for having a proper dock on an expensive machine (computer). One of the best apps that has been under-rated. Test it for yourself. I’ll give an example: I use Firefox with many windows. I now can see all the windows in the dock and can click them to minimise and restore witha click. Revive your Dock and workspace. Cheers!

Won’t consistently assign an app to a desktop. Overly complicated menus and options. Features are not that interesting. Going back to regular dock for the performance improvement and to be able to assign apps to specific desktops.
