If it’s not installed, the compress button may appear to respond but won’t process the file. Please follow this guide to install Ghostscript: https://compresto.app/docs/guides/getting-started/install-ghostscript After installation, restart Compresto and try compressing the PDF again. If it still doesn’t work, please let me know your macOS version and the PDF file size so I can help further.

Hi, thank you for your feedback. We're sorry for the trouble. The error -1005 ("network connection lost") typically indicates a network connectivity issue. A few things to try: 1. Check that your internet connection is stable 2. If you're using a VPN or firewall, try disabling it temporarily 3. Restart the app and try again Regarding compression not working — Compresto compresses files locally on your Mac, so it should work without a network connection. Please make sure the selected file is in a supported format (JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, GIF, MP4, MOV, etc.). Sorry to hear that! Could you try this: open Compresto Settings, go to the About tab, and click "Clear cache and reset onboarding", then try compressing again. That should resolve the issue. Let us know if it helps!

Thank you for the honest feedback! You're right, PDF transparency layers are a known limitation we're actively aware of. PDF compression is genuinely complex, especially with transparency, embedded fonts, and Adobe's proprietary handling. We're working on improving our PDF engine to handle more complex documents.
