Version 3 really messed things up for me…opened various requests to address annoying bugs and did not see any progress to address the issues. Just ran into Telescopo (included in Setapp) and it simply works… Sometimes less in better - the Marked 3 upgrade was a definite dealbreaker for me.

Have always enjoyed how polished and feature-rich Brett’s app’s are. This Marked update is no exception! A joy to use.

Brett Turpstra, the developer of Markedt, is a very clever guy. This piece of software is wonderful,i t makes life easier.

Great simple app to view and export rendered markdown files. Easy to use and robust.

A really useful app that works exactly as expected.

Consistently mis-renders Markdown, and the print versions it produces are wonky and cause weird printing repetitions and stuff.

The latest version has made the app pretty much unusable. It will either hang or take 10’s of seconds to open.

Long time Marked user and V3 is a great upgrade. Like anything Brett Terpstra makes, if you dig into it, there is a TON of stuff it can do. Some highlights: - The Dingus (process tester) is brilliant - Style Stealer &/or Generator make getting the perfect look easy DOCX in/out works beautifully. Documentation is clean and easy to use/find what you need. Finally, the CLI is excellent. Particularly love the ability to stream content into a preview and/or create a new markdown file from the clipboard without actually saving a file first. I hated having to save anything I wanted to preview to a file first. Experiment, read the docs, & contact support. He's quick to respond with info or a fix. For example, this is the 3rd time I've edited my review in a week because he keeps fixing things. Thanks for coming up with a solution using mk --preview with pbpaste instead of "Use mk --paste" or "Use mk --stream". From here on, I'll report to the support page. Thanks

MOSTLY GREAT! However the Word Doc export was really bad in Marked 2, and so I never really got to use it for the thing I most needed it for: generating resumes in the worst format ever, which all recruiters are addicted to.

So happy v3 is finally out! Took longer than I hoped but worth the wait ❤️

Not a great solution for markdown files that contain code, it often messes up the formating of code blocks and extends them past where they end. Also, the export as PDF functionality just results in a blank PDF.

That this app does not provide any way of adjusting the column width boggles my mind.

Have used the app for years, but the latest app makes it really hard to use. Any inline link only opens inside the same window, making impossible to go back.

I’ve changed my review as thumps down did not seem fair. For viewing its simple fast and does exactly what is needs to do well so for that the thumps up but do not export :) That falls short. Lots of options but for me PDF/docx failed. PDF export takes forever and the result is not a valid PDF according to Adobe Reader Pro. Filing a support ticked requires me to login/register. For me that is not worth the trouble

Brett Terpstra has done it again! An incredibly useful tool for all of us who love working in Markdown but have to work with a variety of other file formats. I’ve been Beta-testing Marked 3 for several months now, and the developer is so responsive and dedicated to making this into the best tool possible. Highly recommended!

I love Marked. I have used & licened Marked before Setapp existed. NOTE: THE FOLLOWING PROBLEM HAS BEEN FIXED. LEAVING COMMENT SO REPLY MAKES SENSE. Many, many thanks for the quick fix. Unfortunately, the Marked 3 update breaks my pandoc-centric workflow due to sandboxing. The terminal instructions to fix it thrugh the terminal do not work and the Help>Crossover material does not exist.

But there is a bug that is frustrating me. A simple one to fix I hope. The App keeps pretty well every file you have opened, open. You cannot close a file. Use the menu options, it persists. Use the red dot close, it persists. Use File>Close All, they all persist. My only choice is to quit the app, not an ideal way to use what otherwise would be my favourite tool. Nut if I reopen the app, it re-opens all those open files. Version 2.6.46 (1071)
