No integrated Finder support, no ability to open multiple files at once from Finder, confusing interface (i.e. nee simple method to add or remove text from existing file names).

This app is only good for a few files at a time. Any fileset that is large (say 20,000 files/folders) basically takes over the system and makes the app unresponsive for extremely long periods. During this, this app stays in FRONT of everything on the screen and cannot be moved, minimized, nor hidden. Look to A Better Finder Raname to findout how it *should* be done.

Works very well. Efficient and versatile, a great tool if you frequently need to name multiple files in a organized fashion.

Excellent application! I use it regularly for my data garden :) It could use a couple features here and there (e.g., duplicating steps within a Renamerlet) but otherwise perfect for its purpose. The keyboard shortcuts are a boon, as well.

What a great app that saves me time and headaches. I frequently need to rename files, and while the Finder has some basic functionality, Renamer has so many options that let me easily and safely batch rename thousands of files. The preview feature is extremely helpful, too. My favorite renamer is pre-appending the folder name to the existing file name. I love that I can save renaming options and sequences. (I do wish they could sync between Macs, though.)

This app does exactly what it says; it allows batch renaming without any issues. highly recommend.

Renamer is an amazing helper when I’m trying to organize batches of documents. Renamer gently introduces you to ‘pipelines’ of name transformations —first remove this text, replace that text, and add a number. As you add steps, you see how each step will change your filenames, and which ones might be missed. Then it really unleashes power with regexes and saved renamerlets. While I’m sure all this can be done with the commandline, Renamer has saved me so much time in figuring out how to handle sets of files and get them organized.

Super useful

I like the app but it has bugs. E.g. replacing more than one " in a file name only replaces the first (although the option for that is deactivated).

Excellent app

Basically an interesting concept, but still bugs and partially illogical operating concepts: - Renaming for local (!) files with German umlauts does not work - No context menu for elements in the UI - e.g. duplicating or editing renamerlets is only possible through a menu

The regex replace is a very significant time-saver.

It takes an extra minute to fully understand the interface, but it’s a super powerful tool if you need to do things like rename an entire folder of files. Tasks that I used to write a custom bash script to accomplish are a breeze in Renamer!

I like this app very much. I can quickly change names for batches of files in ways that cannot be done very easily in Finder.
