App version: 2.4.2

Super cool—this saved my day! I needed to automatically cut audio and remove filler words within specific timeframes, and this app handled my use case brilliantly. It picked up several filler words and let me edit them seamlessly. The best part is the option to export in 4K without compromising on video quality. I’m so glad to have found this app in the Setapp ecosystem! A few suggestions for the team: 1. More AI Image Models: It would be great to see support for additional AI image generation models (currently, it only supports Google AI Studio). 2. UI Improvements: The split and cut icons are a bit confusing and could be made more distinct.

Thank you, this made my week. The filler-word case is exactly what Auto-Edit was built for, so it's good to hear it held up on real footage. Both suggestions are fair, and the second one especially. On the split and cut icons: you're right that they don't read as distinct, and you're not the first person to say so. Icon clarity is already part of the interface work I'm doing for the next release, and this is a cheap fix that I'd rather get right than leave ambiguous. Thank you for naming the specific pair. On image models: more providers are something I want to support. I can't promise which ones or when yet, so I won't pretend otherwise, but it's on the list rather than in the "nice idea" pile. If you hit anything else, or you have a view on what the split and cut icons should look like, write to me directly at [email protected] Feedback this specific is worth more than most bug reports.

App version: 2.0.1

Impressive app, I tried editing my video and still can’t believe what it offered. I loved the part of Edit once, then use any aspect ratio, or trailer and it all fits without further editing. Also the composer is super useful. Everything worked smooth with version 2.0, thanks for some quick fixes. Looking forward to more updates! ❤️

This app does not deliver on any of the advertized features. AI-auto editing, video generation - is laughable and unusable in its entirety. It struggles to generate readable subtitles that keep pacing with the VO…. A very very rough and unfinished product that over promises and under delivers

Thank you, and sorry this wasted your time. The captions problem was real: on Setapp, transcription was being given your original footage instead of your edited version, so subtitles drifted out of sync by up to eighteen seconds and deleted speech came back on screen. Non-English audio was worse still. That's fixed in 2.4.2. However I would highly recommend using Scribe for best transcription. The AI features hitting the monthly allowance and dead-ending is the next thing I'm fixing. I won't argue the over-promises point for the version you used. If you try 2.4.2 and it still falls short, mail me at [email protected] and I'll handle it directly.

Really impressed with this app so far. I ran into a small bug (captions staying on screen too long between dialog scenes) and emailed the developer about it. Got a reply within minutes, and the fix is already in the works for the next release. Not many developers respond that fast, and it shows how much he cares about getting this right. Great app already, and clearly only getting better from here.

Thank you - this one made my week. The caption-timing bug you flagged is exactly the kind of report that makes the app better, and yes, the fix ships in the next release. (For anyone else reading: captions occasionally overstayed their welcome between dialog scenes - they'll clear properly now.) Fast replies aren't going anywhere. LazyReel is built by someone who edits his own videos, so every bug report reads like it's about my own footage too. Thanks for taking the time to write this - it genuinely helps a small app get found.

App version: 1.5.0

This app looks fantastic. However it's incredibly difficult to figure out how to use it. There's just one YT video that is so complex (no voiceover, just captions at the bottom plus all the captions that are already going on the screen )that it's impossible to really understand it. The directions don't explain it easily. I wish you would just do a step-by-step launch primer that would help us to use what looks like a very promising product

Hi Danny, Thanks for your positive feedback. I would love for you to try Lazyreel v2.0 at lazyreel.app. This version is also currently under review on Setapp. Please let me know how it goes for you. I am also recording some tutorials and will publish them soon to help with the assembly process. Best regards, Pawan Kumar

App version: 2.2.4

I wanted to like Lazyreel. The transcription-based editing and custom API integration are great concepts. Unfortunately, the app fails where it matters most: the final export. Regardless of settings, exports consistently crash. It either freezes during rendering or loops an "Export failed - Try again" error. I suspected a conflict with the AI background text, but even the app's default test project refuses to export. There is clearly a deep issue with the internal rendering engine. As an agency CEO with a tight schedule, I need tools that save time, not beta-versions that require constant troubleshooting. The app is simply not ready for public release. Until this core architecture issue is fixed, I cannot recommend it and will stick to reliable software.

Hi, thanks for reporting. This issue was caused due to one dependency update to match Setapp guidelines and is fixed in v2.2.5. Sorry for all the inconvenience and it would be very kind of you if you can give it one more try.

ARE U SERIOUS ?????? CAN’T drag & drop from Apple Photos … CAN’T OPEN Apple Photos CAN’T Drag & Drop from Desktop CAN’T Import several Asset ARE U SERIOUS … May be later , not usable , to much time wast , look interesting

Response from Developer

Jul 23, 2026

Update: v2.1.0 is live now which fixes all your issues, please try once more. Totally fair - and sorry it wasted your time. You flagged real gaps, and the update rolling out now (2.1.0) fixes the core ones: • Drag & drop from Finder/Desktop now works anywhere in the window, not just that tiny strip. • Import several files at once — drop a whole batch, or multi‑select in the Import dialog. • Apple Photos: dragging from Photos now imports too. macOS makes this one genuinely finicky, so if a drag ever doesn't take, the Import button always will. Browsing your Photos library from inside the app is the one thing still on our list. Everything else should feel a lot smoother once you're on 2.1.0. It honestly means a lot that you still found it interesting through the rough edges. I'd love for you to give it another shot - and if anything at all gets in your way, email me directly [email protected] and I'll jump on it personally. Thanks for pushing us to fix this. 🙏

What in the vibe coded app! Barely anything works after testing, most of the features are broken or are half baked. Avoid!

Response from Developer

Jul 19, 2026

Thanks for taking the time to test it, and I'm sorry it fell short. That's genuinely not the experience I want anyone to have. A significantly improved build is already in review with SetApp right now, with a lot of stability and reliability fixes, so I'd honestly ask you to give it another look once it lands. In the meantime, it would help me a lot if you could tell me which features broke for you specifically. I read every report and fix fast, and I'd rather earn the review back than leave you stuck. You can reach me directly at [email protected] and I'll make it right.

App version: 1.2.3

It can’t import YouTube videos, it keeps giving errors. Almost none of the features work and it gives errors like "spawnSync ffmpeg ENOENT" every time. I couldn't find any feature that worked. AI features also don’t work. Also there is not even a simple tutorial on how to do things. I don't think it's ready for launch. There's so much errors bugs to fix

Response from Developer

Jul 17, 2026

Update: Please update to the latest version and let me know if it worked. Thank you for the honest feedback, and I'm sorry for the rough first experience. You're right to be frustrated. The spawnSync ffmpeg ENOENT error points to a bundling issue in this build: the app couldn't locate its FFmpeg component. Since YouTube import, transcription, and the AI features all rely on it, that one problem cascaded into nearly everything failing. That's entirely on me, and it is my top priority right now. To make sure my fix fully covers your setup, could you share a couple of details? macOS version: (Apple menu > About This Mac) Mac model / chip: (Apple Silicon M-series or Intel) A fix is going into the next update asap, and I'll follow up personally once it's live. If you'd like, you can also reach me at [email protected] and I'll make sure you get a working build directly. Thanks again for giving it a try on day one. This is exactly the kind of feedback I needed to find this.
