Edit: the UI is really clunky, doesnt respond in many instances, but i still stand by the original review “it looks very very promising but honestly, i need to be able to use my own API keys, the apps looks good, i heard the test voice at the on boarding, API key is key :D”

Vozes muito robotizadas. Impossível usar.

The app just hangs on me for hours/days at a time. No indication of progress, just that it’s working on it but never finishes.

My text states it will take 6K credits? I pressed enter and it did it anyway. Well I doing it i havent hit aditional paywalls yet but it also is extremely slow at processing it. It is processing while read it out loud which is stupid because it freezes the application. No scroll nothing. have to go do somthing else. had potential.

Seemed promising, but I didn't even finish the tour before I uninstalled it. What they don't mention in the description anywhere is that this requires credits to use. I'm not paying a Setapp subscription to then also have to pay for something with credits. Too bad.

No german hifi voices, also freezes and crashes.

Needs Work. I handed it a markdown file and it hung many times and never completed. I have used a bunch of tokens and the job never actually successfully completed. I am fine spending the tokens when the job is correctly finished, but you shouldn’t charge my account unless the job succeeds. “voice service unavailable” sounds like a you problem, not a me problem and you should be providing the stability to justify the token usage. I am excited at the prospect of this app, and will return when this can get addressed. “Vexel supports 22+ professional voices across multiple languages” . Yeah, multiple if you count English anbd Ukrainian as multiple languages! Uninstalling immediately.

There are a ton of settings to customize the voice output. Yes, American speakers for now, but what do we expect for a v1 product? Credits are required because all AI services cost money per use. If you check the pricing on the Respeecher costs, it is very reasonable for a subset of voice generation offered there for a much higher price. Great job, guys.

Probably Setapp is to blame, but when opening the first time it says my Intel Mac is not supported, so, I guess only Silicon? This should have been obvious on the page of the app in the Setapp interface.

Only american languages, pretty useless if not US market

Junk. App thinks english is Icelandic and wont work, spies on you by default, and somehow consumes tokens when only playing the voice preview that (should) be pre recorded. I’ve been increasingly dissapointed with MacPaw lately and this continues that trend.

Exactly the app I am after, but I can’t use it as all the voices are American. I live in Australia. Even a British accent would do. There is a Voice Library in the settings where it looks like you can clone a voice, but it is greyed out.
