Keeps “rearranging my menubar items” and the notification pop-up keeps showing up, distracting me and interrupting my workflow. Why so many bugs?

I don’t think this app is anymore sustainable. Ever since it’s been sold, it’s been going downhill continuously. Filled with bugs and issues. Sometimes the bartender bar won’t open. The menu icons won’t appear at all on the layout screen to adjust. Completely chaotic behaviour. Been using it for over a decade and I’m afraid I need to remove this buggy product from my MacBook.

After thenew changes and updates, the quality has decreased, it’s impossible to get it to do the basic things, always reversing changes on its own, hiding items randomly even if you reorder and do everything right in the settings.

latest version is really buggy. used for years with no issues but now i constantly see problems with menu item organizing; blank screens, "indexing" loading state etc. stability really needs to be improved

Definitely a thumbs up, long term! But at the moment (macOS 26) there’s far too much erratic behavior in Bartender for that rating.

Mouse pointers randomly disappear after update.

Nice App. Works well on my Macbook Pro M2. Needs to be restarted from time to time. I had so many icons on the menubar and most of them are not useful in an everyday life.

catastrophic! crashes continuously, locks my Mac with ongoing screen captures, inconsistency in hiding menu items, …. what a pain! used to be great - but no longer is. already looking for full replacement

The app basically doesn’t work under Tahoe. It changes the menu bar, but very buggy and laggy. Causes the computer to slow to a crawl frequently. But the worst of all is the menu items it manages don’t work. Can’t pull down menus from them. Every time you click on one it just bounces and shows up elsewhere. It makes your menu bar like a big game of whack-a-mole.

Has become very buggy - the interface doesn’t show all items in the settings, settings flickers constantly, drag n drop v unreliable - pls fix! Otherwise really like! Will edit when fixed!

The app is too buggy, it messes my menubar items all the time, throwing things into always hidden randomly and also keeps acting up, setting too large spaces (400 pixels!) completely out of the blue. IDK if it’s the fact that i work with 3 monitors or anything, but I’m just tired of it getting in the way of me working or trying to have fun between work sessions watching something.

Bartender saves my Mac from extreme clutter. The team has worked very hard to squash bugs and has been patient and generous with their support. Honestly, this is one of the main reasons I have Setapp.

Wenn Bartender läuft, dann muss verschwinden die Menus bei einem Klick darauf sofort wieder und ich muss die Menus ein zweites Mal anklicken.

Unfortunately the app has gone from bad to worse with each new release of Mac OS. It is unreliable on my MBP running Tahoe. I reinstall every few months hoping that developers will fix the issues but had no luck so far. In the meantime I discovered another app called Barbee that seems to work reasonably well with a fast response.
