Boom 3D via Setapp: solid audio, worth a look at the privacy policy. The app does what it says, but Global Delight's privacy posture is worth a read first. Ad retargeting on a paid utility. The Boom-specific policy confirms Google Ads and Facebook remarketing pixels are used to retarget you on other sites after you visit theirs. Reasonable for a free ad-supported app. Less expected for a tool you are already paying for via Setapp or direct purchase. They explicitly do not honor Do Not Track signals. Retention is effectively indefinite. Third-party sharing beyond the named ad and analytics partners is vague. No category list, no opt-out beyond Google's and Facebook's own settings. Credit where due: GDPR rights are listed and a working data deletion path exists via [email protected]. The app earns its Setapp slot. The privacy posture is mid. If you install it, use a throwaway email and hit Google's and Facebook's ad opt-out pages.

I use this app as a virtual Mic for high quality audio streaming. I’m not sure why that isn’t hilighted more, but it’s all i’ve used it for, for years.

i have a 16inch M1 Max and if you think it’s already a good sounding laptop, you won’t believe just how much better it gets! Incredible!

My everyday audio driver to eq my headphones and speakers.

It takes away the microphone from my video calls, and it’s impossible to remove it from the MacBook.

This has been a surprisingly helpful app! I’ve recently become an aspiring audiophile. I’ve learned how important, or more of priority, EQ Controls are to dialing in the sound that I want to hear. As a Setapp subscriber, this is a wonderful place to start, or maybe stay, for improving my setup. Which is using my Mac Mini as the source, via usb to my DAC, then Amplifier to bookshelf speakers and sub out. Fun journey!

The app regularly disrupts my internet connection and freezes applications/websites. When I restart Boom 3D, the issues goes away for a few days.

The sound quality for this app is absolutely AMAZING, not other EQ app can compare BUT….. whenever I get a call to my iphone that forwards to my Mac or switch my airpods to my phone then back to my Mac the app hangs. Also the app will sometimes lock the volume at insanely loud levels and won’t change until I force quit the application. Unfortunately because of those bugs I will be looking for another EQ solution.

Alem de perder totalmente o controle do volume ainda vivi travando e para de funcionar e o computador ficar uma porcaria quando ele esta ativado, não presta!!

Es impresionante cómo mejora la salida del sonido utilizando Boom 3D y no solamente con la música, fantástica app, muy recomendable!!!

O aplicativo tem bons equalizadores, inclusive personalizados por marcas de fones de ouvido. O efeito 3D pode ser ativado e é interessante em algumas músicas. No geral considero um bom incremento ao utilizar fones de ouvido.

Nach anfänglichen Jahren mit hoher Zufriedenheit stört mich die Soundqualität zunehmend. Lautes Knacksen alle 5-10 Sekunden, Störgeräusche wie Staub eines analogen Tonträgers und verzerrter Klang. Sobald Boom aus ist, kann störungsfrei Musik genießen, nur halt ohne den dynamischen Wums.

Hard to use. Sounds fine, but juice not worth the squeeze.
