Tasks for Obsidian gives the tasks in your Obsidian vault a real native home on Mac. It reads checkboxes and Tasks-plugin metadata straight from your .md files and writes every change back atomically, so your notes stay the single source of truth. There's no Electron wrapper, no proprietary database, and no account — just a fast, focused app for the tasks you already have. Capture new tasks from anywhere with a global hotkey, or manage everything in a clean three-pane layout.

It recognizes the metadata you already use — due and scheduled dates, recurrence, priority markers, and custom statuses — so nothing about your existing workflow has to change.

Capture from anywhere

A global hotkey and menu-bar composer let you drop new tasks straight into today's daily note, with full support for the Daily Notes plugin.

Drag tasks between files

Move tasks across files or reorder them within one, and both changes get written back atomically, no manual cleanup needed.
