For self-growth, against anxiety
Journaling can be a useful tool for dealing with your feelings, especially when you’re anxious or sad. It can also help you grow, learn more about yourself, and come to important conclusions. Here are a few journaling tips you can make use of.
Helpful apps for journaling
Start with intuitive journaling
The great thing about keeping a journal is that there is no one right way to do it. For example, one day, it could look like an entry from your diary when you were a teenager. Mental Walk is minimalistic and simple to use, so you can start your journey with this journaling app.
When you have a question about something in your life or are trying to make a big decision, ask yourself the question and write down what comes to mind.
Think of what makes you feel calm, joyful, and happy
The next day, you can write down things that make you happy or goals you want to reach. Craft has some great templates you can use to practice different approaches to journaling.
From the Home page, go to Templates. There you’ll find a Bullet Journal, Daily Reflection Journal, Gratitude Journal, Travel Journal, and more.
Use daily journaling questions
To start your daily journaling practice, it can be helpful to have some questions to think about. You might want to focus on one or two per day. Diarly will offer you some prompts about what to write about.
To add the prompts, click Diarly > Settings > Prompts. Use the “+” button to add more questions.
Get rid of distractions
If you’re struggling to stay focused while journaling, try scheduling your time and blocking distractions like apps, websites, etc. Set up your comfort time in Session and get to writing.
The app also blocks distracting software and websites that you choose while on focus. It’ll restore them when the session has ended.
