Tidy up your flow
We’ve written many how-tos. Time for a proper how-not-to! There are many things you do on Mac that are a complete waste of time. Here’s how to cut them out of your routine.
Move essential web pages to the menu bar
Everyone needs fewer browser tabs. Here’s how to make that happen.
Pick your most-visited websites and pin them in the menu bar with MenubarX. Light as a feather, this app won’t affect CPU, while letting you browse without opening a browser.
Tip: make sure you don’t use it for browsing Twitter or other social media. It’s so easy that you won’t be able to stay away!
Stop opening cloud services
What do you do when you need to save something to the cloud? Well, you open Dropbox, Google Drive, or whatever services you use. Meaning, you need to open an app or website.
CloudMounter makes it unnecessary, while it mounts your cloud storage as drives, easily accessible from the menu bar.
Make links open in the right place
If you use more than one browser on Mac, grab OpenIn to automate link opening.
You can make OpenIn a default browser so it shows a browser picker each time you click a link. Or, you can set up rules for opening certain types of links and files in the right browser/app. Avoid the scenario when you click on a link and it opens in the wrong place.
Keep notes closer than close
Notes are essential and you probably have some type of app or online service where you keep them. With SideNotes, you can save time and Dock space, because your notes are always there, lurking on the side of the screen.
Single swipe — and your notes show up, no need to open new tab or app. You can add notes using the plus button, and there are folders too!
Hope this use case will help you solve tasks faster, and enjoy solving them, too! Check out more use cases picked for you below.
