Manage your calendar, to-dos, and notes in one place
Are you looking for an efficient way to stay organized and keep on top of your daily schedule? NotePlan is an app that can help you do just that. It’s designed to help you combine your tasks, notes, and calendar – all in a single place.
Plan your days and weeks
With a separate note for each day, you can easily manage your time both now and in the future. Make an outline of what has to be done, write down and link relevant notes, then schedule everything in your calendar.
In NotePlan, you can work with tags and mentions, which is incredibly handy.
Manage tasks
Your calendar will be updated in real-time as you add new notes and tasks with due dates, making it easier to see the big picture of your to-do list. Tasks in NotePlan can have a status: open, completed, canceled, or scheduled.
You can mark tasks as complete by checking them off. NotePlan also makes it easy to move tasks to a different day if you don’t finish them.
Create repeating tasks
This is a great NotePlan’s feature to try if you want to save time and track your habits, for example. Here’s how you schedule repeating tasks:
Write down your tasks just like you would when scheduling daily notes
Then open the schedule menu by hovering on the left side of the window and clicking on the arrow icon
Click on the Repeat tab and set up your preferences. Finally, hit the Repeat button at the bottom of the dialog.
Create links between your notes
NotePlan makes it easy to link to any other note, and when you do, that note is automatically linked back to the first one. This is called backlinking. To use it, just type [[Note Name]], and NotePlan will show you a list of notes you can link to.
You can also link to a title inside a note, which saves you time and points you to exactly the section you need in longer notes.
Search for anything inside your notes
No one is flawless. At some point, you’ll forget to take care of some of the open points in a Daily Note or to change the due date of a task. Click Filter in the left sidebar to find tasks that are past due and more.
You can add or change your own filters if you want a particularly precise search that isn’t covered above. Choose a name for your filter and then click New Filter to find what you’re looking for.
