This is a good app. But please update to Version 6.

This was one of the apps I originally came to Setapp for. I find it buggy. It works, but there are times where my Apple menu (on the far left of the menu bar) automatically opens when running this app. I like using this on my laptop, where space is limited, but I have stopped using it on my iMac, because a) I really don’t need it, and b) I don’t like the bugginess.

Recent updates have broken the app, While I can still collapse and expand the hidden icons group. The’re just not clickable anymore. To the developers, please make the app work again. It's a great app.

It just doesn’t work good anymore, if you also use Boom 3D (the constant microphone icon is messing bartender up)

Did love this app, but realised it was causing issues with being able to click on different windows. Closed Bartender and issue gone, I’d previously blamed Zoom & Teams and it does seem to be an issue that would arise after using an app like this if that helps solve the issue. Will stop using for now and reconsider once issues resolved.

Initially very confusing but essential for accessing the menu bar on a laptop, and it does work well once configured.

két napja küzdők vele, fagy rendszeresen, hol jó hol nem. Ki kell lépnem, majd vissza akkor jó egy darabig…. majd megint nem. Kár mert jó lett volna használni. Ha lesz pozitív fejlemény újra kipróbálom, de most elengedem mert elvitte az időmet csak.

Since the lastest 5.5 updates, the app is basically making the Mac unusable - all kind of weird input issues and lag with the mouse… Killing the app solves them right away, so the pointer is clear.. And NO, it’s not a macOS26 issues as I haven’t upgraded to that yet

Update: for all folks already with Tahoe, hold your beer and delay installing for a while, until the beautiful devs get the problems fixed that Apple introduced for v6. It’s beta for a reason, currently it bogs down MacOS to a screeching halt. Gosh, I have no idea what to to without this indispensable tool! Absolute bare minimum install on any new machine. The settings feel a little clumsy but you get used to it fast. INSTALL!

Very often the application simply crashes.

This app was going to make me throw my computer out the window. I tried everything but couldn’t get rid of the lag. I have a fully-specced MacBook Pro 16” M1 and so I was totally puzzled with this sudden degradation. I noticed that my cursor would flicker and repeatedly click the left corner of my menu bar after launching BT, so I decided to quit it to see if the issue went away. Lo and behold – it was Bartender all along. I will not be continuing to use this.

You need to get the beta version on Tahoe

beaucoup de complexité et de dysfonctionnement. C’est dommage car l’appli a beaucoup de bons coté aussi. Il faudrait revoir les options et le paramétrage pour clarifier et rationnaliser

When will the Setapp version of Bartender be updated to v6? I have downloaded v6 from the website, but it competes with the installed Setap v5.x *Issue Resolved* I have the same issue as reported by others. Bartender requests screen permissions then just quits. It has worked well until today.

Great app prior to version 6. No fault of Bartender, but Apple changed something in version 26 that is causing havoc with Bartender. They are trying to get things right but it will take time. I am not abandoning them.

Terrible. As others have stated, this creates freezes and lags on the Mac system. Totally unusable, and sabotages one’s whole UI. What was once a fantastic app from the original developer has been ruined. Avoid. Suggest using the open source alternative, Ice by jordanbaird.
