Awful service on their site you can download (paying) the Bartender 7.0.5 that should fix with Golden Gate Here you only get Bartender 6 Are they planning to leave Setapp??

Sorry for the frustration, Mathias! If you're using macOS 27 (Golden Gate), Bartender 6 isn't compatible. Bartender 7 is available through Setapp's beta updates. You can access it by going to Setapp → Settings → Updates → Beta and enabling beta updates. We're currently wrapping up testing and plan to make Bartender 7 available to all Setapp users very soon. Sorry Bartender keeps failing after your macOS update! If you've updated to macOS 27 (Golden Gate), Bartender 6 isn't compatible. You can get Bartender 7 through Setapp by going to Setapp → Settings → Updates → Beta and enabling beta updates. Update Oct 2026-I’ve used this app for YEARS and loved it. With the last few Mac OS updates it simply will not consistently work. It keeps prompting me to “enable screen recording” which I do or verify that it is and simply will not recognize it and makes the app useless to me. Sucks because this was one of my favorite apps and core apps I use Setapp for and will have to rethink that!

Simply doesn’t work. Used to be a solid fixture of my setup, but now I spend more time try to get Bartender to even show my items without having to reinstall, clear permissions, and re-grant that it’s easier to just use macOS’ menu item hiding capabilites.

If you’re having trouble setting up like I did, make sure you have the beta opton turned on in your SetApp settings. Turns out, the older version of Bartender is no longer compatible with the latest macOS. But there is a beta that fixes the issue. Thanks for the response!
