Problematic (but see edit at end). I created several password-protected zips which the app itself couldn’t open (and enither could other zip-related apps like Pacifist). When I saw that, I did a series of tests, including pws like “123” — i.e., no caps, no special characters, no punctuation — and got the same results. Hard to imagine what I could have done wrong, but messy UIs around encryption seems like the kind of thing a dev should have zero tolerance for. The risks here are HUGE. [to the dev: As noted, I was *very* careful to check / recheck / simplify PWs and couldn’t get BZ to open its own PW-protected files. I’ll try it again, and if I get any diff resukts will change this review immediately. I SHOULD HAVE SAID: every other aspect of the app is great!] [EDIT 2: Yes, I am sure *and* I’ll go back and start from scratch on a diff device. Either way, I’ll 💯 make sure to leave the most positive review I can, very mcuh including yr responsiveness.]

Easy application to use

Uso BetterZip todos los días en mi MacBook Pro con chip M3 Pro y es simplemente esencial. Me permite inspeccionar, editar y extraer archivos comprimidos sin descomprimirlos por completo, lo cual agiliza mi flujo de trabajo técnico. Su velocidad, integración con macOS y compatibilidad con scripts Bash lo hacen ideal para automatizar respaldos, cuarentenas y reportes auditables. Es confiable, potente y muy intuitivo. Si trabajas con archivos comprimidos a nivel profesional, lo recomiendo totalmente.

Great zip utility; i believe it compares with winzip over on windows. if ytou have setapp. i wouldnt even CONSIDER using something else. If you are reading this review that means you are in need of an archiver utility or even if youre not, download this one to replace your current option. you will be happy you did

I love being able to Quick Look compressed files’ content without de-compressing them

Everything seemed great — until it unzipped only 10 out of 11 documents. Every other app, including the macOS built-in Archive Utility, extracted all 11 files without issue. I don’t know why this happens, but the inconsistency seriously undermines my confidence in BetterZip.
